hi all!

I have two mobo, ASUS P4P800SE(BIOS:1011), ASUS P4C800E-D(BIOS:1023). There are two Intel CPU, which one should i choose? One is P43.0C revision is unkonwn, the other is P43.0E, revision is G1.

CPU cooler is ALPHA 8952T.

I like OC very much, and enjoy it, but i dread heat of OC.:(

Give me a suggestion, thx.

The P4C is canterwood i believe, based on that its a better chipset but i dont know the details of either board in any detail.

I believe the 3.0E processor is a prescott and the 3.0C is a northwood. The Prescott will be hotter than the northwood but i cant comment on overclockability.

3.0C = Northwood and 3.0E = Prescott.

Go for the 3.0C + P4C800E-D for the coolest good ocing combo :)

This post (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=1319259&postcount=2) suggests that the prescott on the P4C board will give you the best overclcok and performance but itll be hot. Stick to the Northwood for a cooler computer.
