I was first thinking of going Water Cooling for a cooler system and more silence durring IDLE times.
But I wan´t THE water cooling setup. So I think I´m getting the PA120.3... and now that has 3 120mm fans.

So the questions are:
A) Will that WC setup with 3 YL fans (http://svc.com/d12sl-12-bk.html) be any quieter that a XP-120 (and same YL fan) and Zalman VF-700Cu on GPU?

B) Will the Conroe with mild OC need WC? Is it that hot?
I know the GPU will get hot with no WC but those GPUs can handle the head anyways.

P.s.: Recomend any other fans?
Thanks.

I'm going WC for the first time in my life but NOT because Conroe will need it but because I want to try something new.:)
That said I do believe that if you want silence it would be better to go WC if and only if you plan to overclock that much that you will need vcore upping.
If you go WC you might even see a 3.8-4GHz acived by regular buyers and with a silence as a bonus:woot:

This belongs in the Water-section.

1) No. You get higher clocks at the same noise-level.

2) Dunno. You can always use better cooling as far as I see it, no matter how cool the CPU is...

P.S. Yate Loons for sure.

Hey Guys

I am not a BIG fan of Water Cooling. I have never done WC with any of my system because I never OC any of my Hardware. So I am gona stick with a Processor Fan. Can someone recommend me a good Dual Core Processoe Fan. I have been looking at Thermaltake. What your guys opinion?

I´m also going for WC just to try it out.... little hobby :)

Now let´s hope I can get my hands on a Conroe :)

For no overclock just get a good 3rd party heatsink and go passive!

3ghz air on E6x00 conroe's should be more than enough for 24/7 use.

On water you'd be looking at ~3.4ghz 24/7 ... which is nuts.

hmmm... maybee i´ll go 3.4Ghz 24/7 with WC...
I´m just such a nut, I actually feel kind of sorry putting that pressure/stress on the system..hehe But that´s me.

Jusy like I never trust a simple string to hold a big painting :hitself:

Those speeds seem like they can easily be reached with a Tuniq Tower 120. Wasn't the E6600 doing 3.6ghz with a Tuniq Tower 120? I think I saw that.

E6600: I thought FCG said that we will probably be able to get 4ghz on air
