even though you want to avoid 90º bends at all cost...

www.voyeurmods.com has plastic G1/4 threaded fittings available in straight and 90º in both black and clear in 3/8" or 1/2"

i know 90s are bad... but if i use the barbs that i was going to use with that res... then my tubing would be smooshed against the floor of the case...

unless theres another why i can mount my res so that its not almost level with the floor... hmm

this isnt the case im using... but im using a case of the same make/model so i can mod without the downtime...

now the initial plan was to mount the res next to the mobo, near the front of the case (you can sorta see the area in the first pic)... but i dont think itll fit there... so the plan now is to remove the 2 80mm fans in the rear out and mod that area to fit 1 120mm fan and mount the res under that. the res i would like to get is just under 10in and if i measured right then the res should be pretty damn close to the bottem of the case... so using strait barbs would pin the tubing against the bottem of the case... if you need me to MSpaint a pic.. then i will...

There are two problems with this thread..

1. you dont want that corosion master res...
2. you dont want flow killing 90 degree barbs.

An RD30 is an UBER pump for those who value flow above all else. However, for most normal folks, a DDC with a Radical/Alphacool top, and 1/2" fittings would keep even the most discriminating of us happy. The 655 is a good pump too, but, does dump more heat than a modded DDC, and has less flow.

Also, AVOID MIXING METALS. Aluminum+Copper=Galvanic corrosion. This is always a bad thing. Check on McMaster, and get some clear PVC, you can build your own res in that style, should you feel DIY inclinded.

Incidentally, check out the swiftech microres. It will PROBABLY fit quite a good many places in your case, and will get the job done just as well, with straight fittings on it.

Just my $0.03 (adjusted for inflation.)

OooH, if you get an RD30, can I get a 1950's Gibson Les Paul Goldtop?

i see... after posting what i did... i remember back to reading about galvanic corrosion... it never hit me untill i thought about it some... and actually i was getting quite fond of the swiftech micro res, it would fit perfect(with some modding of course)

how much do the rd30s cost out of curiousity?

Hay Mucho!!! about $350.00 for the pump & about another $100.00 for the power supply to run it undervolted.

a t-line! problem solved!

Lol.
Maybe it's just me, but T-lines are ugly.
As for the Swiftech micro-res. It's a LOT cheaper than the giganto-clear res, easier to fit, and spiffy looking too. Did I mention it's cheaper?

You could almost buy another block for the price savings!

well it can be discussed... i dont think using something that kill flow(performance)++ is pretty either!
