I'm still drooling over all the results I've seen in this forum and in the wink wink nudge nudge 'previews' popping up all over the web, but I've yet to see a comparison between a 2mb and 4mb model running at the same clockspeed. Does anyone have any idea how much the extra cache on the e6600/6700 will improve their performance?

Well, the multi alone is a good enough reason for the 6600, those 63/64s will max out around 3.3ghz due to the mobo.

The multi and cache are why I went for an E6600 over the E6400... also the bin always helps :D ! I wanted to make sure I hit a good speed, and the E6600 is in a pretty good "sweet-spot" price-wise ($75 or so more than the E6400, but $250 less than the E6700) while boasting a lot of features (higher stock, better multi, better cache, better bin). I saw a test somewhere (on a Chinese site someone linked here) that showed a decent change from 2MB to 4MB cache on the Conroe, but I don't remember exactly where. I pre-ordered from buy.com with 2nd-day air shipping.
