will my swiftech apogee water block fit this motherboard ? , Does it need a backing plate or does it just screw in. Im new to intel boards. Thanks

You will need to get a backplate. The board does not come with one. The standard Intel HSF has plastic prongs, so no backplate is needed for that. S775 boards also don't have a socket bracket.

There are also a lot of capacitors along two sides of the socket, so be careful.

I don't know if your block comes with backplates. Many heatsinks do.
