I'm happy when my little hatchback gets 31 MPG on the highway, but German-based Loremo AG is set to debut a 2+2 coupe at the Geneva Auto Show that gets a whopping 157 MPG.

The GT looks better, acceleration on the light model is so weak it just seems impractical.

Check out the GT model of this, it should be able to do so easily considering how light it is.

just remember what the first petrol fueled cars looked like.
this is just the start of a new generation of cars.. they will shape and
dress up eventually. and maybe even perform better :D ... 20s to reach
60mph .. i think my old 205 grd did about the same.. and it didn't feel
that slow, just that it wasn't a dragracer apparently

Interest in Buying

Unfortunately, mass-production of the Loremo will not start until 2009. We would be happy to keep you informed on important milestones, so that you will be among the first to be pleased with your own Loremo.

Well, it's max speed is 99MPH, considering the road is long enough, and you have enough spare time to reach that speed. It would probably be extremely easy for one of the wheels to life off the road, and fly into the sky. Heck their aerodynamic design looks like it's for an airplane:D

Well before you rule out all efficient vehicles, don't forget the toyota Volta (from what I've been told, the major car insider communities have been told it will be a production vehicle in 2008 at an estimated 70-80kUSD.. guess its their gift back to the supra community ;)

408hp.. steering contols movable across all 3 seats.. 435 miles on 1 tank of gas w/ a 0-60mph time of 4sec. Not totally electric, not totally affordable, but it gives a little hope for performance on less gas consumption and it'll whip the heck out of most of the cars that race Pike's peak now.

does that toyota sport a $2000 battery you'll have to replace every 3 years? and what exactly is done with the dead batteries anyway?

hybrid/electric is a waste of time, we need fusion cars :D

Toyota says they will last 10 years and they are building a special rebuild facility for the batteries so they wont be just going in the trash.

nice car wouldn't mind to have one if they redesign the trunk and nose a bit so it looks a bit better.

concerning safety, 95kf chassis + about 10KG average worth of fuel+driver (70Kg ish) =185kg.

hit the brakes and it will stop shorter and faster then a conventional car.+ the CHASSIS weighs 95kg they didn't say a thing about tires, trunkload(spare wheel?+toolbox?) etc

Citroen C3 diesel does, according to the specs, 61.9 MPG. It has something like 110 HP, so i'm sure it can transport 4 or 5 passengers uphill if necessary. A friend bought a C3 diesel a few months ago and likes it. Pretty nice car imo.

I learned to drive in a 1969 Escort Mk1 with 34BHP, this has a faster 0-60 than that - and that was liveable. This things just one huge aerofoil!

A yearly fuel bill of £250, no tax and low insurance, sounds great :D

what you guys seem to forget is the nature of diesel. Diesel is naturaly low reving constant tourque engine vs gasoline engines that have a sloping tourque line. A diesel engine acts more like an electric motor than an engine.

Ive seen 30hp (well dual overjuiced 15hp electric motors) electric car whip a viper on the 1/4 mile.

The way I see it is that car would be great for town driving. As mutch as it pains me to admit it. Im a big v8 kinda guy and it makes me sad to see such small engines, but the way I see it, the more eficient automakers make cars the more gas there is for me:D .

Also hybrid is a total waste of time. Id rather se a hybrid with a large cap to store power temporarily and use it as you drive. Keeping the engine @ optimal revs all the time during city driving.

:banana::banana::banana::banana: man.. . I just bought a 45k lexus... :banana::banana::banana::banana: cost me 550 a month. I couldnt imaging paying close to 1000 a month...

Edit: This is a good mile stone. I hope they keep up the good work.
I remeber once reading about a 80 mpg car that did 0-60 in 4.8 seconds.

0-60 in 20 sec is the same as mye car ^^

And yeah its a bit dull. But you could buy a car to play with and buy this car to drive economic with.

Personally I belive more in a Hybrid Diesel Fuel Cell car.
