View Full Version : 8.2GHz AMD 3500+ !!!

Some guy at my school told me he had a 8.2Ghz FX62 on watercooling. After laughing at him and telling him I'd bet every penny I'm worth that he is full of crap, he sent me a screen shot of the said FX62.

As you can see the screenshot is NOT of an FX62, but rather a 3500+, the intersting thing is that Windows seems to think this guys CPU is at 8.2GHz.

It doesnt appera to be a photochop, so I am wondering what kind of bug would cause windows to go so insane.

That could be easily made with paint.. :D

But could be also a typical bug of windows..

He also has 4*512mb twinmos bh5 running 270 2-2-2-5 with 3.1v:wasntme: :rocker:

And he has no sign of any games on his desktop so why wuld he even bother oc'ing his cpu? not to mention him using kazaa, and hes using an Abit mobo which he is stupid enough to install the Nvidia firewall which kills your internet connection and blocks any program you might want to use.

i installed it and i have the sli-d mobo which it came on a disc with it and they also kills all my progs and internet connection :( oh and the screenie is stupidly fake.. prolly a fault in xp or something.

edit: also mine is way better than that:

Without a doubt it's fake. 4.0GB's of RAM...oh please...no one has successfully registered ALL 4 GB's of RAM in Win32. Gotten close, but still not there!

My bet is a bios problem.

Why are people trying to believe/disprove this when maxxx him self said it was fake in the first post?

The reason that I think its a bug and not a photochop is because the guy believed that his CPU was at 8.2ghz with so much vigor that it lead me to believe that he really did think he was at 8.2Ghz and not his actual speed.

2.81 on a watercooled 3500+ is pretty sweet... unlikely considering the guy seems a little dim.

Photochopped. For sure. I can see where you messed up on overlapping the numbers. :) There's a huge mark on there. Nice try though!

Hmm? I thought he had an FX62, should would be 2.8 Ghz and a lot of the time 2.81 Ghz is what shows up.

Where is his CPU-Z shot? I would have to reserve judgement on him till then I guess. Let's see a verified shot of that.

Of course it's some sort of bug - maybe some pirated version of Windows XP that has been hacked together.

I'm still awwaiting thes CPUZ screenie. if for some reason CPUZ is also buggered I will have him run super Pi 1M. if he doesnt get ~12 seconds I think its safe to assume his OS is buggered

LOL! This is so funny.I once had a CPU-Z bug that said my 754 was running dual-channel.I was so excited.I thought I had dual-channel somehow. After I rebooted back to single channel. But the best part I think it's the part when someone unlocks the multiplier by accident. Why can't that happen to me?

just want to chime in here a little bit. i went to a recent amd/ms tech tour. spoke to an amd engineer. told him that my firm was interested in testing amd cpu and that we're using blades with intel inside, but kept having problems. also told him we're testing grid. i also made a point about our energy efficiency initiative. long story short, he hooked me up with an am2 on 65nm for testing. i'm loving this cpu and it's ocing quite well. the future is looking ever brighter for amd. i see that some big investment firms are upgrading intel to a "buy" status. i feel sorry for the people who will put their hard earned money into intel stocks. i was very enticed by conroe, but i can't be persuaded.
