just wondering if anyone has recently bought an opteron 165 off the net and recieved the 0610 stepping. Im lookin at one on ebay but would rather buy retail if possible. If u have recently bought a 165 and recieved a different stepping that is capable of 2.8ghz+ that would help too.

i bought one off ebay and got the stepping as advertised. Have it running stable at 2700 on stock Vcore. Also Prime and SuperPi32m stable at 2906 @ 1.44vcore.

yeah theres a guy selling a oem 0610 in a sealed package, the only thing im worried about is if its DOA so i asked him about his return policies.

flickerdown also has the newer CCBWE 0617s for 350 I think. Retail Box. Might be a good alternative.

Got a Opteron 165 CCBBE 0610DPMW (OEM) from Monarch last week.

I am leery of OEMs, but you definately get better steppings alot of the time. I would rather pay a few more dollars for a known PIB though.

or you can pay the extra $15 or so and get the 3 year warranty from monarch.

just scored an opty 165 0610dpmw off ebay $375 shipped, kind of spendy but worth it cause i would be paying more for an opty 170 that doesnt clock as high.
