Somone has offered me a conroe E6600 B1 for sale, Ive only seen people with A0 and B0's on here.
Its not cheap so I just wondered if anyone has any info on this before I consider buying.

E6600 ES (2.40/4MB) $720 + $50 P+P is what i got told one would cost

If it's more tell em to go jump if less you lucky

As i just posted in one topic ES are better than RRP for one massive reason, unlocked mutlis. If your an Intel happy and regular user you'll know FSB is there key and FSB is Full Speed Beyond (basicly more is faster in every sense)

as I answered in the other Thrad: Intel ES do not have unlocked Multis  only XEs do so ;)

and even Retail Conroes can lower the Multi due to Speedstep ;)

Its near enough the same price what your were quoted pete. A tad cheaper.

I thought the B0 were totally unlocked and the step5's were just unlocked down?

If the multi are only unlocked down like the retails then I dont think ill bother. I can wait 5 weeks.

Wonder what the B1 revision is like?

After looking at the current price that E6600 ESs are going for, I'd say that is a biiiit much.

...FSB is Full Speed Beyond
Are you just trying to be funny, or do you really think that? It stands for Front Side Bus. Don't worry about getting it wrong. When I was first researching for my first build, I thought it meant Front Serial Bus.

Just an FYI in case you really thought it stood for Full Speed Beyond.

EDIT: and YHPM

Where are you looking ?

In the classifieds they have been going from $500-$600..even the brand new revision 5 with super awesome terrriffic overclocking abilites was $550 but the three conroe ads I saw posted have since been deleted and are no where to be found...hrrmmmmmmmm

you need 100 posts to view classifieds.

Still don't understand why people would pay 2 time the price just to have it 1 month earlier..

my thoughts exactly, especially when the retail chips are supposedly overclocking better:confused:

thunderstruck!

Sorry if it's a silly question, but are retail chips unlocked down?
