Can a compunurse be submerged?

Just the probe part and some of the wire, bout 1.5" of the end...??

i use the compunurse submerged. as a precaution i smeared some silicone type glue at the heatshrink that connects the probe with the wire. supposedly this keeps water out of the contact between wire and probe. have been getting my watertemps for half a year now like that, works like a charm.
