You can use zerex stop corrosion but you will want to use iodine or some sort of algecide to fight algea.

so i would be better off getting mct-5?

If its not too late change the radiator to a nexxxos pro 3, unless you want to use loud fans. The Extreme series are a copy of the black ice extreme series which was designed for loud high flow fans, the pro series are designed for low flow quiet fans. Also consider an Alphacool AP700 as I'd be willing to bet that its better than an Eheim 600. Also, northbridge block, unless youre a silence freak, theres no point, just adds extra restriction to your loop, which with a pump as weak as yours is the last thing you want.

Yes, Pro for sure.

I would get this to mix with distilled water : Engine Ice Hi-performance Coolant.

http://www.engineice.cc/products.html

Its non-toxic for those of you that have pets. I love my dog.

Hmm, id have thought zerex has some anti algae properties. Its incredibly toxic to humans and ive never had any growth and im not a fan of flushing my system unless i need to.

I second the point about northbridge cooling, just put a decent passive heatsink on it (unless you have no case airflow and its getting very hot, then go for a quiet fan solution).

its toxic but doesnt kill all life.... Copper is a Bicoide itself, but always use iodine drop or two.

as for tubing is it ok if i use clear flexi tube from the plumbers merchant?.and i will go whith zerex and iodine then as well. with the zerex @ a 10%mix by volume and a couple of drops of iodine.

Yes I guess so as long as its 1/2" Internal Diameter. I'm guessing that reservoir is made out of aluminium (alu/copper mixed in WC loops causes corrosion), in which case zerex is a must, but youve acccounted for that already.

can anyone tell me if the g 1/4" thread in the rad and everything else is the same as 1/4" bsp and also if its tapered or not.
and @atomic,i had to get a nb block this ultra-d nf45 is hot lol its in the 50's all the time and i have put as5 on it to.

[XC]Atomicpineapple
06-14-2006, 11:24 AM
Hmmm, I'd have replaced the stock cooler with a Vantec Iceberq copper 1st, but never mind, watercooling it guarentees a job well done on the NB cooling front. Yes g1/4 and BSP 1/4 are the same.

thanks for all your help guys im looking forwards to this little project and ill post some pics of the build to.I called my friend today who is a plumber and asked about using maluabale copper(think its spelt wrong lol)as he says copper pipe is a verry good heat convector.so im thinking of going down the plumbing route and bending the copper what do you think?

[XC]Atomicpineapple
06-14-2006, 11:39 AM
The extra surface area the copper pipe gives is negligible compared to the surface area for heat dissipation given my the radiator. Also I can see it being difficult to position in your PC, especially if its your first tiem with watercooling. That said Jaguarking here has got a hardlines PC, search for project hardlined and you'll find it, he'd be able to give you a better idea of the problems involved than me.

can I ask what site your ordering from, uk sites seem to be very hit and miss.

www.candccentral.co.uk for alphacool stuff, www.over-clock.co.uk huge range, thermochill stockist for the rich ppl :D www.leftclicks.co.uk www.coolercases.co.uk www.specialtech.co.uk www.componentsuk.co.uk for random stuff. Overclockers and scan are starting to get into it now as well.

May I take this moment in time to recomend www.over-clock.co.uk - They have GREAT service.
Ordered two large orders from there upto now. Ordered one of them today infact. ;)

They are currently out of stock with DCC+ pumps though, as I just found out. :P

Zerex will stop algae from forming, you don't need another additive. Fewer additives, the better.

The word "resize" was invented for a reason...

So was Decaf.

I guess (((pics))) are better than no pics.

Try increasing ISO and lowering Aperture. A cheap mini tripod (5 bucks) would help too.
