It be interesting to know what you are getting in temps
Type of fans you are using
Ambient
Idle
Load
tubing used
Rad
WBs
Pump

For example
Setup:
P660 OC 4.36
X1900xtx
GT360
Maze4
Storm
1/2" Tygon
MD R30RT
Scythe S-Flex "F" @ 12V

http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a154/eastcoasthandle/GT360/S_FLEX2.jpg

Results: (Ambient Temps 24.5C)
CPU, using Prime95

http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a154/eastcoasthandle/GT360/S_FLEX_idle_CPU_38C.jpg
38.0C idle

http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a154/eastcoasthandle/GT360/S_FLEX_LOAD_CPU_44_5.jpg
44.5C Load

GPU using RTHDRIBL
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a154/eastcoasthandle/GT360/S_FLEX_GT360_GPU_IDLE_36_8.jpg
36.8C Idle

http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a154/eastcoasthandle/GT360/S_FLEX_GT360_GPU_LOAD_42_3.jpg
42.3C load

CPU, using Scythe S-Flex "F" @ 63.7 CFM (according to the box) with GT360
38.0C
44.5C
-------
06.5C = the difference between idle and load temps

GPU, using Scythe S-Flex "F" @ 63.7 CFM (according to the box) with GT360
36.8C
42.3C
-------
05.5C = the difference between idle and load temps

Again, using 3 Scythe @ 63.7CFM, 6.5C + 5.5C = 12C

It appears that the GT360 I have at ambient temps of 24.5C so far increase when with lower CFM fans. I obtained better performance using just 2 Deltas (@ 141CFM) + 1, Antec (@ 79CFM). Ambient temps for both tests were 24.5C in the room. Therefore, I didn't reduce the speed of the Scythe any lower.

The results of using the Deltas + Antec fans are shown below:

CPU, using 2 Deltas + 1 Antec with a GT360
35.5 Idle
41.5 Load
----------
6.0C = difference between idle and load temps

GPU, using 2 Deltas + 1 Antec with a GT360
34.0C Idle
40.3 Load
-----------
6.3C = the difference between idle and load temps

Using 2 Deltas @ 141CFM and 1 Antec @ 79CFM, 6.0C + 6.3C = 12.3C
Using 3 Scythe S-Flex "F" series @ 63.7CFM, 6.5C + 5.5C = 12C

The only oddity is that the Maze 4 showed a lower delta using the GT360 with lower CFM Fan however, more testing is needed.

CPU
35.5C IDLE (Deltas + Antec)
38.0C IDLE (Scythe S-Flex "F")
------------------------------
02.5C increase in CPU, Idle temps using low speed fan

41.5C LOAD (Deltas + Antec)
44.5C LOAD (Scythe S-Flex "F")
------------------------------
03.0C increase in CPU, Load temps using low speed fan

GPU
34.0C IDLE (Deltas + Antec)
36.8C IDLE (Scythe S-FLex "F")
------------------------------
02.8C increase in GPU, Idle temps using low speed fan

40.3C LOAD (Deltas + Antec)
42.3C LOAD (Scythe S-Flex "F")
------------------------------
02.0C increase in GPU, Load temps using low speed fan

Fans
2 Deltas @ 141 CFM and 1 Antec @ 79 CFM = roughly 361 CFM used on the GT360 (subjective observation)
3 Scythe S-Flex "F" 63.7CFM = roughly 191.1 CFM used on the GT360 (subjective observation)

it would also help if they said what blocks and pumps theya are using

The speed of the fans in CFM or volts would be essential I would imagine.

yea it would..

so pretty much list complete system, fan speeds, and all temps (ambient, idle, load)

@ Eastcoasthandle: are you saying this is what you have? If so, which rad are you using?

Thannks in advance!

Anyone else have a GT?

Its a GT360...
I thought it was in the title.

^^^Thanks :)

I wonder what a PA 120.3 will do with a similar setup though...

Radical has already done some testing and PA was still on top.
Still waiting for his final results,

Anyone else considering the GT series? Or do you plan on something else or keeping what you already have?

Has anyone else purchased a GT? If so what are you getting out of it?

I'm considering on a GT but am not getting it till July-August. I would say it is pretty good considering the price/performance ratio as compared to the PA120.3.

gt240..
might get another gt120

to make a gt240+120...haha..

why?
its better to go for 1 rad only. you should try to fit an 360instead. but a 240 is probably good enough.

don't have one yet, but plan to get one for my GPU cooling loop

think the GT240 will handle a x1900XTX + x1900CF setup with 2 74cfm fans?

I have the rig in sig (the rain in Spain falls mainly...nevermind).

Ambient: 28c
CPU idle/ load: 33c/ 40c
GPU: 36c/ 42c

System temp: 32c/ 35c (mobo)

all temps taken from motherboard sensors (and with a grain of salt).

edit: Yates on rad in pull config (radbox mounted) at 7v, S-Flex fans for case in push-pull at 5v

tubing is 7/16" and 3/8" where appropriate (you ever tried to route tubing in a P180?) :slapass:

@Sneaky:

wow. That is massive. with a 120.3 for your cpu only, you dont need shrouds or anything. just slap 3 yates @ 5v and it will be more than enough.

and a 240 is enough for your videocards.

warriorpoet
06-22-2006, 01:23 PM
I concur.

Sneaky: put a couple TECs in there to make those rads work. WR time, anyone? ;)

edit: you'll need something much faster than SLI'd 6600s to need a dual rad for video alone...G80 in SLI, anyone :D

atleast he can put on whatever videocard he likes without worrying about cooling!

Just finished putting the final touches to my first water cooling rig about an hour ago using a GT240. I've had the radiator for about two weeks now, but due to my newbishness, it took me slightly longer than anticipated. However, I think it all turned out well in the end. Anyway, here's my data. Please let me know if I forgot anything and I'll try to fill it in.

Hardware:
Rad - Black Ice GT240
CPU Block - Storm Rev. 2
GPU Block - DD NV78
Fans - 2xPanaflo 38mm L1, ~1850 RPM, 68.9 CFM, 12v
Tubing - 1/2" ID Tygon
Pump - D5
Athlon dual core 4400+ - 2.21GHz (default clocks and volts)
NVidia 7800GTX (default clocks and volts)

Temps:
Ambient - 25C
Idle CPU - 38C
Idle GPU - 37C
Load CPU - 44C
Load GPU - 44C

Looks like I'll be buying a GT240 to update my rig (moving from a BIP II 120.2), as well as another for my new rig. Good to know that decent performance can be had for a decent price as well. (No knocking ThermoChill...just out of my budget range).

what are core/mem?

nice!!

Hmm, let's see
Core = 490MHz
Mem = 1300MHz

It's a XFX 7800GTX 256MB and I think that's a slight overclock out of the box over your generic 256MB 7800GTX.

Also, out of curiosity, I ran that same tests using a pair of Yate Loons (1250 RPM, 47 CFM, 12v) this morning.
Ambient - 24C
Idle CPU - 37.5C
Idle GPU - 37C
Load CPU - 43C
Load GPU - 44C

The slightly lower temps can probably be attributed to the slightly lower ambient, but it is interesting that the Yates seem to keep up quite nicely with the Panaflos.
