I do a lot of beta testing and currently have a partitioned drive to separate work from test. I'd prefer to have separate drives so as not to endanger my work drive. I was going to go internal, but Newegg's got a good price on a Thermaltake A2319 external eSATA enclosure (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817145018). I know very little about this and its performance.

Anyone have an external eSATA drive? how's the performance? Can i get this to run as fast as it would if it were internal?

Thanks.

esata should give you normal sata-speeds... its only an "adapter" to use it outside of the case!
