Nice car. Looks smaller than mine yet you have about an extra ~400lbs or so. Must be all the electronics / creature comforts.

Same as my S80 AWD,

except it has 208HP, and 236lb-ft:(

How good is the Four-C Chassis?

The 4C is great if you change the crappy stock springs...

So my Q is why can't volvo stop making old people car in the USA and make one of those? :slobber: Nice HP, weak torq, my crappy Altima has 250HP/ 249 Torq

Volvo DOES make my car, how do you think I got it? The S60R (mine) and the V70R (Wagon) come with 300HP and 295 ft./lb TQ from the factory...

They do have it in US, and Canada

Awesome with a 2.5L high-pressure twin-turbo charged engine

But at $62,000CDN, has a shiat load of BMW competitors:(

yeah BMW have M3 and 5 series are far more powerful than V70R
v70R electronically speedlimited to 155 in europe at least...but if you tweak a little and remove it...probs get 170...

Nice Volvo. I've always liked their cars.

Btw... what do you plan on doing to get 350whp? The car comes stock with 300hp at the crank which is roughly 250whp or so considering an AWD vehicle has about ~18% drivetrain loss. I'm not sure how much a chip would get, perhaps 40hp? I'm not too familiar with volvo tuning but i doubt its too much more than that.

Keep us posted on the progress. Its a sweet ride.

Edit: I ran a search and found a dyno of a chipped Volvo S60R and it gets around 300whp. I'm not sure if it had exhaust/intake or anything in addition to the chip.

There are a few things with these particular cars. First, Volvo does not tell us here in the US but these cars were DESIGNED to run on 94 Octane (R+M/2) which here in Cali there is only 91 available. I blend 100 octane with 91 to get around 95 or so. It has been dyno proven that 94 octane gas yeilds 20WHP! No lie. So while the car will run fine on 91 (computer will retart timing and boost) you won't get full performance. This (http://www.bsrab.se/products/n39/t406/) is the tuning product I use, it is a softloader and I can go from tune to stock and back and forth as many times as I like, when I like. When I go to the dealer I flash it back to stock :D BSR claims 354HP but real world dyno results show almost 300 WHP.

My plan for 350WHP is:
ECU tune - Have ~290 WHP
3" Exhaust - Have ~305 WHP
CAI - Have (Cold air intake, mine is acually a ram air effect) ~310 WHP
3" Downpipe - Not yet (just think headers for V8's :D ) ~325 WHP
FMIC - Not yet (Front mounted Intercooler) ~350 WHP <--- this is actually very underestimated. The FMIC that I plan to install is said to actually increase power by 22%. It has 40% more surface area than stock, is 200% less restrictive and cools the charge by some 30 degrees over stock as well.

With turbos it is all about getting air in and out as efficeintly as possible with the coldest intake air possible. Heat kills the performance... kinda like computers ;)

Does the retard in timings affect fuel efficiency? And would I actually save money from going to octane 91 to octane 93 (highest in my area), the difference are like $ .02/per litre. I run a B5254 engine btw,

91 octane is the highest... no wonder its so cheap over there! Over here (Europe), the lowest you can get is 91... at a standard petrol station, you can get 100 octane no problem (but 1L costs $1.60).

Of course, at race tracks, around 115 is normal.

You guys go by a DIFFERENT octane rating... you go by RON. 100 RON is like 91-92 over here...

Don't forget, thats FWD.

Only the V70R is 4WD. You're going to get some crazy torque steer if you can get 350hp out of it.

That extra weight is coming from your All Wheel Drive. No wonder it weighs 3700 lbs. You need some carbon fiber body and titanium chassis to reduce some weight.

nah j/k.. :D

Nice Volvo you got there. Looks very sexy. I like the pics very much.
