I just discovered that I can change my CPU's volatge in tiny amounts with Intel Integrator Toolkit. Newegg said my max voltage was 1.4, so I set it to that, and it let me OC tons more. just being at 1.4V, I got my Pentium D 930 from it's starting 3GHz to 4.25GHz. Problem is I don't know how safe I am, or if I can go higher. 1 more % and Windows shuts down randomly. 2% and I get blue screen. I was wondering if it was safe to go past this 1.4V and OC even more?

Start low, increase slowly and see how much you gain at each level. When the gaining levels out, stop there or get better cooling.

Check out temperatures along the way. I'm thinking load below 80C should be safe. If i'm wrong, someone correct me on that.

chips vary but generall lower is better, 80C is way to hot!!, a load temp of 45C would be the max that I use

Anything under 70*C at 100% load on both cores should be OK :)

huh? This is intel, u dont get that even without overclock

in temperature, I try not to pass the 65º Treshold for everyday use and in voltage DONT pass 1.45v, it will kill your processor over time (intel recommends not passing 63º and 1.40v if im not mistaken.)

if you load more than 200C there may be a problem.

Yeah. 45C would be nice. I am on air and I usually try to stay below 55C. On a hot day it sometimes goes up to 56C or 57C (which is actually the load temp for stock cooling). BTW... There is not really a temp increase on my system from overclocking.

As for how high to go... As high as you safely can I guess. If you use water cooling you can go higher. But I try to use as little as possible. I personally limit my overclocking to 1.4 Volts (my processor is rated for 1.28 ~ 1.4 volts.) I have tried 1.6 for a short period of time and mostly what it does is add heat (which I don't want on Air cooling). With water or Phase I can see 1.6 Volts being useful...
