Okay, well I'll start off by saying that I'm a huge gamer. I've currently got some 2.1 Altec Lansing speakers, but they suck. They pick up the radio, are unbalanced, and in games like counter strike I can't even hear footsteps.

I've been considering these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16836121118

and i'm wondering if their sound quality will be comparable to a headset? I would like to use these with games instead of my headset which i'm forced to use. Would these be almost as good or better than a headset?

dont think they are very good. i always kinda rather have a good 2.1, than a cheap 5.1.

i just ordered the x-2300

but would I be able to hear footsteps in a game like counter strike well? that's my problem with my :banana::banana::banana:ty 2.1's, and so i've got to use a headset

My friend has a set of these - good for their price but don't expect anything special. Also when these are on but set to a very low volume he can actually pick up french radio or summat - he lives just outside london! :D
