I have a 975XBX 302 and am anticipating doing the freecableguy mod if I get the guts. I have some questions with this board:

Can the rev 304 be identified by a part number or in a way that if ordered online you know what rev you will recieve?

I read alot on the overclockabaility of these boards, I am running an intel 805 to hold me over and cant get over 3.2 without crashing, anyone experiencing same problems? CPU temps at 50 C at idle! with a zellman cooler

Sticker on the right side of the box reads:

BOX975XBXLKR
AA D27094-304 (or 302, etc.)

This tells you the rev without opening the box.

aside from the question (which fugger answered =D ), reseat your heat sink and you should get better temps. I'm using an 805 with a stock heatsink and the crap thermal pad right and it idles at around 45C

I reffer to the the lower x4 (x16 in size) slot on the 975xbx mobo which has incredible bandwidths, is able run a dual port LAN card, each port having 1000MB/s! Though it's a shame there are no LAN cards that fit a x16 slot, because running two Nway switches off each of these 1000MB/s ports would make for a great LAN server! PCI 133mhz just won't cut it in two years time and I can only assume this x4 slot will accomidate future 64bit interconnectivity? Why else would they put it there?

So, will there be a LAN card to fot this x4 slot in the future? Otherwise what is the reason for it?

RAID could make use of that bandwidth, as could a TV capture card...
