Dual or more instances of the superPi mod...how? My comp won't let me, and I know it's not a stablity problem because i tested it on my work comp. It automatically pops up a not convergt sqrt or whatever the message is. Anyone know how to fix this?

Are you running them from seperate folders and setting the affinity.

2 folders with Pi each, but different names for the *.exe-files...;)

Works nice...;)

No need to change name and even affinity, just 2 separate folders works for me :)

You MUST set affinity if you want to FULLY test each core. ;)

What is the difference if you run each instance on single core set manually or if windows assigns cores itself? It might as well assign each insance to its own core. Cpu usage is still 50+50

Huh? Try for yourself...if you run a single instance with no affinity, the usage isn't 50/50, but rather an odd ratio. Now set affinity and one cpu becomes loaded 100%. I thought the purpose of running dual spi's was to test EACH core indiviually?

s7e9h3n do you ever sleep, isn't it 3am in US? :p:

OK I will try and see what is the time difference to see whether windows automatic process assignement to cores is worth or not

Although my intel bad axe seems to be dead atm, can't run anything

never had any problems with running dual pi, though when I set the priority sometimes its faster before i set it to realtime

I use XP and have more than one account setup. If you run super pi on different accounts it works every time, the cpu goes 50% on one account then when you start on the other account you go right to 100%. At least it does on my AMD 4200+

This may be overkill if you currrently only have one account but in case you happen to have multiple users already I thought I'd pass this along.

^^^Yes, I do believe that is overkill.:stick: I took everyone's advise, and just set up two folders and have two shortcuts to the executables and it works fine.
