Alright, so i havent been keeping up on storage tech  . So i am in need of more storage, and would prefer that it be a drive that i can use in the new conroe system ill build once theyre available. so i was looking into the newer SATA 3.0 drives. WTF is the deal with it? it looks like the same connector as the SATA150 like i have now, except for the latchy thingy (great idea). My question is will a sata 3.0Gb/s drive work with my mobo and the SATA cables i got with it,(backwards compatable) or what?

SATA cables are SATA cables. SATA 2 cables are latched ones...no increased bandwidth or anything from older ones.

well yeah, i figured that, but i mean, will that sata 3.0 drive WORK with a sata150 cable and mobo? or if the drive came with a latched cable, would it work with my mobo?? someone said you need a jumper to make it work with sata150 stuff, but i trust reviewers on newegg about as much as i trust an emo kid with a razor...
