nice, but can you test 32m please?
just want to know if 3.23 ghz is stable at air?
is that voltage correct?
keep up the good work

edit, all i can see is 1942mhz ???

You only see 1942MHz because the CPU clocks itself down when it is idle ;) If you multiply the FSB, 323, by 10 (the E6700 real MP) you get 3.23GHz ;)

Nice result Dumo

Not bad for stock volts & air

Now for 1.6volts and slap the on the -90c Dumo :D

or you could just up the voltage and stay on air so us air guys could geta good grasp on what to exspect.

this is excellent... Remember we were all hoping for 3gHz+ on air and 3.6, 3.8 on SS? Now that we've been spoiled seeing 5gHz with LN2... we're... SPOILED.

And it looks like we should be in the 3.6gHz neighborhood with good air and volts.

Agreed. If an E6600 does 3.2Ghz on air, I will be more than pleased ;)

up the Vcore to 1.45 It should be ok for 24/7 on air. See how far it scales. Gj man anyway

Agreed 100%..here's a system that on air stable will go under 16s in SP1M.
If you said that 8 weeks ago you'd be laughed at.

Exactly. Man some of the expectations around here are so high on conroe right now. Which is cool because it means the conroe is gonna kick some butt, but don't discount these posts as well, shows how most of us probably will use these chips. The xtreme oc forum is just a little bit higher on the frontpage :D

BTW movieman, where is the ribeye in your avi? unless i am mistaken, I see tbone/porterhouse, strips and tenderloins but no ribeyes? my favorite cut! ;)

Still on air and 1.41Vcore (unlocked Rev.304 bios--thanks to FCG:)) cleared 3.38Ghz...with a bit more vcore 3.4Ghz no problem and hopefuly with more memory (if any)tweaks/vdimm it will be in the 14s:)

Nice results Dumo.

But if got a little question. You are now running your CPU at 10*338 and you ram with a divider at 422MHz. But what if you lower the MP to 8 and run 1:1, meaning 8*422=3376MHz Would that increase the performance? And are you able to do +400MHz on your board with aircooling?

Dumo

What are the max clocks through BIOS, because I see that you are using PLL generator.
Can you change the multiplier from BIOS?

Nice clocks on air Dumo :toast:

Seems that all models will do at least 3Ghz on air.

I also have B0 but I haven't properly tested it on air yet. Seems that 1:1 divider works poor with 1073 bios.

BIOS max clocks are:
333 + 333*0.33 = 443

But I have trouble getting my chip over 420fsb. Might try another bios.

Geez the CPU power in '05 is crazy.

Dumo, why don't you give it straight 1.55V or so and see if it will do 3.6 GHz? How are the temps at the current speed and volts you are running at?

Dumo
06-01-2006, 11:41 PM
With 1.41V bios temp. around 45C idle with summer like room temp.

H20 won't help, temps are still high

But I am pretty sure board reports temps a bit too high since BT heatpipes are barely warm

bad axe can get fsb 460 by air coolling, i tested my E6300, max fsb 460, stable around 450

also E6300 B0 is easy to oc stalbe above 3G+

Great, I burned 1 PCI slot and X-fi sound card on Intel bad axe for no reason :(
It was only very slightly overclocked on air, PCI freq was not touched

And yesterday, I burned 6600gt on Aopen (yonah), and x600xt one month earlier. WTH is going on

Must be unluckiest days ever
