Hi guys was just doing some searching when i came a cross this guy
who seems to be selling both the conroe and merom chips.
Malaysia guy who's trying to make a profit or con us - hahaha

I've asked the guy to get me a screenshot of CPU-Z with one of these running. We'll what it is really. By the way, he's using eBay Paypal Protection, seems kinda good.

Personally, i wouldn't trust someone with private feedback. They must be hiding something.
Also, it really wouldn't be worth it anyway. $750 for an E6600? That's more than double the price it will be at launch.

it's expensive for sure (especialy considering conroes will be in store for couple of hundred in a month),
but i don't think it's a scam a friend of mind order him a yonah some weeks ago, and did get the goods (bad step with a 207 fsp wall) but he did get the goods

core blimey people just coz i had like 1 post don't meaning i could be pulling a scam.
I registered to keep track of how well the overclocking was doing on the Conroe's
them self.
I am impressed coz i can't wait to get one my self when they come out.

I know of (at least) 4 people , who ordered 6600 and 6400 connies
he claims : all BO stepping .

Yes Indeed but what is to say that those who left feedback are not just users with zero in feedback themselves. I.e. users he created to give himself feedback...
There is also of course a reason to sell these CPU's "private" since it is illegal Intel could otherwise go after the buyers... Catch 22...
He sold some cpus that being ran in a few early conroes appearance here @ XS:)

I'd be surprised if it is a scam... I've seen he's been selling ES's for ages - Dothans, Yonahs, now Conroe. Private is to protect himself.
I bought my Yonah off a similar seller, Malaysia - Private... turned up in two days and I've had it up to 277FSB.
This guy is no con.

Just letting you know that somehow last night this guy's rating on Ebay was no private anymore. I was able to see the LAST feedback he got (I whish I had taken a screenshot). This was a positive feedback from a guy who got an ES Intel 965XE cpu. In the feedback the buyer was mentioning that CPU runs 4.8GhZ.
So it dowsnt look like a scam - plus on top of that isnt malay a suitable place for ES versions to come out from? (Intel fab in there??)

Yeah I get all my Yonahs from Malaysia - but still too expensive given, they get released in a month or so.

I too have bought from Malaysia on Ebay and no problems. Most who post neg things have not got a clue about buying on Ebay and only post what they read from someone else. If you have not dealt with a seller why would you want to slam him as a crook?

Normally I wouldnt mix into discussions like this but I feel I should jump in and say that everyone is entitled to his or hers own opinion. If you dont trust it, dont go for it, of you do it's a-ok as well.
Just no need to get your blood pressures up for something that is actually just a funny fact i.e. a guy selling ES of the cpu's we're all hyped up about.
E6400 looks good:) ....or Yonah T2700?

yeah if you all say he's a safe guy, i'm mighty tempted get an E6400 to tide me over. Plus, be interesting to see what difference the smaller cache makes.

I WAS tempted as well, however 2 things didnt let me buy it:
1. No good conroe motherboard on the market yet
2. For a couple of $$ more (he sells E6600 for 750 USD) I can buy the XE version. And since point 1 above applys I can wait 2 more months.

Same here ^^^, and was already logging to buy the 6300 for 300€. Then I did the maths: +220€ mobo + 200-250 decent ram = a lot of money for an ES 2mb Conroe :D

If I remember allendale is the 2 meg version for conroe...?
(Allendale is believed to be a version of Conroe half that chip's usual 4MB of L2 cache) from the register
aka the same thing with 2 megs of cache disabled most likely

Did you guys read this? I red one real feedback!! By the time I went back to the feedback index page it was private again. I truly believe it is not a scam.

Just received an "Intel Confidential" today ;) I'll put on my mobo as soon as I get it. Everything seems ok and doesn't look like a scam.

Yea, it's kinda nice to buy these processors because since they are Engineering Samples they will come with the mutipler unlocked... I confirmed this with the seller "science_art"
But "genedesign" (also a Malaysian seller with a member start date only one week from "science_art") is selling a Merom 4MB CPU, now would not that be nice for the almost as nice Aopen board? ;)

Phew, I think I was one of the last deals he made then cos I´m getting my T2700 tomorrow with fedexpaid for on friday night, actually faster than ordering from a swedish store since we had celebrated our national day on tuesday! He´s just qualified for the Paypal protection so I figured why not? Seem like a good plan to keep out of sight since ES are intel property and they are probably not too happy having them out on the open market. But I´ll ask him...;)
EDIT: It´s like a little baby, the die is as small as a t-bird athlon, so cute my brand new T2700ES!
I was trying to buy a 4 meg 6400 ES, but it looks like Intel put pressure on eBay and they banned all Conroe sales. Bar the land parcels in Texas, mind you ;)
Is there a nice guy that can PM me a seller's email addy, so I can try it the slow way ?
