im not trying to tell you what to do but i would defanitly get a 9500pro insted of a 4200gf the 9500 is a mutch better card for only like 30$ or so more. just a sigestion:D

i'd have to agree with docyt on that one...for the price difference the 9500 pro will blow away the 4200.

Check out future marks 3dmark 2003 scores (aka graphics card benchmark testing). The Radeon are smoking the competition. You don't see any other brand till 6000 while the best scores are hitting inot the 8000. All 9800pros I might add.

Seems ATI, for now is the *&^$ ;)

The ti4200 is a great card. i still have mine incase i torch my raddy
but i have to aggree with everyone on the 9500 is a better deal, unless youre shooting for high score in 4200's then id have to siggest the albitron turbo.

if you wanna play hl2 and doom3 and not buy a new card again in just 3 months i suggest you get the 9500 pro, id try to find a cheap 9700 np though... the faster memory is def worth the extra money!

All 9800pros I might add.

eeerm update the top 5 are all 5900s ;)

ati still offers the best bang for the buck in the mid price range :D

There was not one single reply to his original question!
Well here it is :
4xAGP is no good, don't spend any extra money on it
128 MB is definitely the better choice, it will give better performance in games w/ large textures (Unreal 2 etc.)

I hate the computer world... in that in one month you can be totally out of date! LOL

well if you really want a 4200 get a agp8x 128mb, if you can get a good card with only agp4x get it since there is not really a diference in performence.

from my expirience its the best to buy a performence card when they get cheaper. (9700/9700pro id say is the best bang for the bug)

if you buy a budget card you spend less money, but you have to buy a new card in only 1 year if you want to play the new games, so you actually pay less in the long temr if you get a performence card because you can use it for a long time and dont need to upgrade.

example: a friend bought a geforce 256 ddr for 400$ when it was released and just recently upgraded because he needs dx8 and dx9 compability. think about how old the card is and he can play rtcw enemy terretory just fine!
