Hello everyone. I could really use some help from experienced overclockers regarding my setup - I simply can't get the silly thing stable. For starters, here is the basis of my system
CPU - AMD Dual Core Opteron 165
Mobo - Biostar Tforce6100-939 (mATX)
RAM - Gskill DDR500 HZ model 3-4-4-8 1T (black heatspreader)
I use ClockGen, CPU-Z, Everest (trial), and StressPrime2004 for my stability testings in Windows. I also use Memtest86+ 1.65 for the bootable memory test.
In my testings, my limits are as follows -
CPU - Stable at 2574mhz, 1.5v
HTT- Stable at 300mhz
RAM - Stable in Memtest at 232mhz ????
If I go much about 232mhz in Memtest (by raising the base clock and setting the divider to 200mhz 1:1), I start getting errors. Is this indicative of a bad ram kit?
However, SP2004 crashes if I try to run the Ram at 232, or even lower down to 228! If I use a divider to get it down to like 184, even keeping my CPU nice and high, then things work. However, I don't think DDR500 RAM should need to be run at a 133mhz divider!
I actually have over 5 pages of my woes posted on another forum, and if someone experienced would give me the okay I'd be happy to post a link to it.
Thank you for your time, and please go easy on this newbie. This is my first AMD OC :)
