You mean the fan?
Also, how hard to re-braze that up? I was thinking about running one of my condnesers thru a table saw.
nice job, Ya were lucy you could find 180 bends that fit the gap bewteen the tubes.:toast:

Not bad at all :) I use a wire brush to straighten up the fins.

Thats a good idea RunMC. I wonder also how much easier it would be to make it a parralell condenser now.

If the wire brush doens't work you can try a fin comb. Should be available at every HVAC shop.

DANG!!! what blade did you use and was it used in reverse? When i tried to cut one with a low tooth count blade spinning backwards and the condensor got ripped to shreds.

Do you have proper U-bends?

Sweet work. That is my kind of $$ saving project. Congratulations. Did you make the u-bends or buy them?

Very good looking! I think I'm going to try make some myselft but they'll probably look quite bad.. I will have to make the u-bends.

leak in your lineset maybe? it does happen
n00b 0f l337
10-07-2006, 11:56 AM
Don't you have a purging setup? Otherwise that condenser's probably ruined on the inside from the brazing.
Duniek
10-07-2006, 12:12 PM
@MarioMAster I turn off manifold and compressor
@n00b 0f l337 I brazing without purging

:( Oh no. I suggest reading LukeXE's latest single autocascade build in a case. That condenser will definetly need to be cleaned out somewhat before it can be used.

I agree too much work for me. Condensors are cheap and I think the time to modify one cost more than a new one.
Nice job though but Ialso suggest to purge, the insides of the condensor must be full of oxidation ready to block your captube.

maybe cheap, but in Poland hard to found 12cm condenser in a good price :(
oxidation maybe I rinse cond in vinegar ;)
parts for this condensor cost me about ~12 euro ;)

10-13-2006, 04:25 AM
no vinegar !!! unless you clean it out real good after
acid and oil dont mix, they look like nice condensers though
Blaster
10-13-2006, 09:43 AM
like I said before, acid will lead to compressor death
it corrodes the winding electrical insulation (very thin clear coat)

big condenser is leak free i used that cond in my autocascade ;)
I bought a another condenser (very cheap :D )

I have bentfinphobia (literally not kidding). I like condensers with thick wide spaced fins.
It looks like they turned out pretty nice considering what they have been threw. :P
