xp 1600 unlock help

i have tried to unlock my xp 1600 , i can runthe fsb @150 and get like a 1800. but if i try to use the multiplier at like 11 or 12 it wont boot only boots at 10.5 and under. i used rear defog kit to try to unlock it. i am using a a7n266 c asus board. anyone have any idea how to get the multiplier to work.
i just ordered a conductive silver pen so maybe that will help.

Before painting the bridges, make sure you slightly scrape off the clear coating over the contact points. Out of the three xp1600's I've had, I was able to successfully run them at 12.5 multi. I couldn't get any higher due to mobo limitations. If you can't get anything over 10.5, then one of the points aren't making good contact.
