From the rather small pool of results gathered, the AMD Turion 64 X2 processor seems to garner very positive results. When you take into consideration that what we had time to hands-on was a mere TL-52 processor model and not the top of the line version, I'm sure you can take a guess of what the top performing model has in store and we are very eager to find that out when the possibility arises.
Take a look at the performance test at :HardwareZone (http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles/view.php?id=1904&cid=2&pg=1)

However, in view of the imminent AM2 processor launch for the desktop systems that would utilize DDR2 memory instead of the standard DDR memory, the Turion 64 X2 has been designed with an integrated DDR2 memory controller instead. Not only that, but the once single-channel memory controller on the Turion 64 has been bolstered to a dual-channel controller, identical to that of the upcoming AM2 processors. Supports DDR2-400, DDR2-533 and DRR2-667 for up to 10.7GB/s total memory bandwidth.
MSI S271 Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology pre-evaluation notebook includes:-
# ATI Radeon Xpress 200 based board
# AMD Athlon Turion 64 X2 TL-52 processor (1.6GHz, 2 x 512KB L2)
# 1 x 512MB Transcend DDR2-667 non-ECC memory module (CAS 5.0, 5-5-13)
# Integrated Radeon X300 graphics on-chip
# Microsoft Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2

Kinda wierd how they'd test a dual channel laptop with a single memory stick, isn't it?

memory latency that horrible on laptop ddr2 667?

Although they cut the bandwidth in half and practially doubled the latenies that we would use.. it shows the potential of AMD's new Chips.. now just for me to get one of these bad boys..

These guys are complete retards... the desktops all have dual channel and twice the RAM.
Looks like I'll have to test it myself... ;)

Pretty much all sodimm ddr2 I've seen have a default spd programmed for around 5-5-5-15, unless somebody hacks or makes available a bios that allows adjusting the memory timings for that particular notebook mb or a tweaker utility.

Excellent performance for the Turion X2 being cirppled to that degree compared to the competition. Complete retards, indeed. Will look forward to some (in?)sane numbers from serious benchmarkers.

I'm in the middle of requesting a Turion X2 setup for some proper benchmarks with Yonah :)
5-5-5 timings is perfectly normal for DDR2 SO-DIMMs. The original Turions could use AMD64 Tweaker to mess with timings, but I'm guessing that the Turion X2 will need to wait until AMD64 Tweaker is updated for AM2.

Here a better review of Turion x2 vs Yonah of the same clockspeed. Though it is in french.
