So late after Ipod's release?

It usually takes years for corporate attorneys that deal with this sort of thing to put evidence/paperwork together before they send out a sopena.

Ahh.. I see. Is there any way to see these patents? I wouldn't mind just looking into what the fuss is about.

Anything that hurts Apple is good. I'm a proud part of the .0001% of people that doesn't have an ipod.

It's actually a pretty good mp3 player, compared to most that are out there. I don't love nor hate apple, but I can't help but point out that they've got a solid product there, overhyped or not.

I have a couple clients who lose the ability to move songs to the Ipod every 2 months...so far, I can't explain it

Without the memory chips, the ipod is just a mediocre piece of crap. People are getting milked dry with all these unnecessary variants and accessories. Everybody I see walking down the street is a zombie with their ipod numbing them brainless.

Make that .0003% :D

iPods would be a lot better if they lasted longer, of everyone I know, only one or two people have had their iPod last >2 years.

If they didn't break and weren't designed poorly, how would they make money on their new ipods. Apple isn't creative enough to design a new product or make one that has more quality than a pair of Nike replicas from a Mexican sweat shop.

I hate Steve Jobs for being a total ass to his daughter back when him and gates has their fall out in the 80s. Ipods are overhyped. I did have to buy the GF one when the Nano came out. She has issues now and than using itunes moving music around. I got her EHpod to use but she insists on using itunes.

Creative is just as bad as apple.. So, pot, kettle,black...

iTunes does indeed suck. Apple was never good at writing software I'm afraid. Non-retarded software, that is. I'm sure all the idiots out there love iTunes, but then again - they don't know any better.

Same story with Sony, actually, you had to use their really bad proprietery software with their MP3/MiniDisc players. Never turns out well...

That's the problem with the battery, I take it? You need to replace it every so often, as they don't last forever. It's not easy to take your eyePod apart to do it, but it's possible nontheless.

I don't know; I still think iPods are pretty good MP3 players... compared to the majority that are out there, at least. Most of them are pretty damn bad.

i bought a sony nw 1000.

simply cause it aint that big, it has a very nice price compaired ot the more expensive Ipods and a battery lasts longer (over 20 hours) and has 6GB of storage.

the huge downside to the sony is the software wich sux but since i used a few small tweaks it is very fast at moving the music to the walkman.

had my first gen ipod till i couldnt stand not having all the music i like on on it (5gb), i couldnt realy be bothered to buy another one however, i was kindly given one for xmas instead though (30gb blk), and i dont think it is a bad product, apart from the screen that in the first month seems to love getting scratched battery lasts a good amount of time and the quality of music and video is most impressive.

The software side of it if a different matter though. :slapass: :nono: .
Thank god for winamp supporting ipods is all i can say.

I also detest people walking around with loads of ipod crap, a protective case and some nice earphones and im sorted.

i wonder what will arse of this though, could be interesting. :)

iPod + Winamp is a good combination, have used it since the iPod plugin came out. iTunes for windows sucks, thats true, but under OS X it is much better.

And Apple makes great software. Not for windows though.

I like Ipods... well atleast the one I own. My Shuffle is very light and very durable (I accidently put it throught the washing machine and it still works fine) and although I don't really care for Itunes I haven't really had any problems with it.

I'm getting a video ipod 20gb black next week.

I luv the ipod itself but like everyone else I despise iTunes...

the huge downside to the sony is the software wich sux but since i used a few small tweaks it is very fast at moving the music to the walkman. This is not always the case with Walkmans.

With the W800i (which I use) you transfer any files to the memory card (Memory Stick PRO Duo) and I use my nice card reader (SanDisk ImageMate 12-in-1 Reader/Writer) for this and it works excellent (plug-and-play and USB 2.0). On the other hand I "only" have 2GB (Sandisk 2 GB Ultra II Memory Stick PRO Duo, highest capacity and best performance I could find in a DUO Pro stick at the time... 4 GB and even 8 GB (!) models are said to come now in 2006). So the only down-side is the (currently) small capacities (however there aren't many "larger" flash-based MP3 players out there). Transfer speed is blazing fast though (10MB/s read, 9MB/s write as Ultra II specification promised, I've "benchmarked" it myself), you can actually fill the whole memory card with a single 2 GB file in less than four minutes.
