Hey Guys i bought a used Prommy Mach II GT on ebay. I have never used or even seen a phase change cooler before this one. All i want to do is Power it on and make sure it works so i can leave feedback on the seller. Is it like a refridgerator where if you lay it on its side or turn it upside down you have to let it sit for 24hrs before you power it on? If not What do i need to hook up and connect just to test the sytem? how do i tell if its in good working condition or not? I know i should rtfm and i plan on reading the manual but i would still like some expert advice on how to test the system and make sure i have a working unit. Any help you guys can give will be greatly apprieciated.
step by step instructions would be super but ill take what i can get. Thanks for helping a excited noob take his first steps into phase change.

The compressor makes a clunking noise as you move the unit side to side kinda like theres a ball loose and rolling around inside there please god tell me this is normal. I still have not tried to power it on i will wait untill i hear from some of you first.
Thanks Again

Alright Mate,

Don't worry the clunking noise is normal:D

Did it come with a manual? You need to connect the power cord then short the yellow wires together, this will start the unit, the unit should cool down to about -33 (or whatever its set to), then as the unit can't detect the power from your psu it will shut down!!!
But you won't know if its fully working until its got a heatload & it holds its temp!

Hope this helps mate

thanks for replys .. ok so i dont have to let it sit upright or anything ... that kinda sucks that i wont be 100% positive thats its good untill i get it completely mounted but at least if it cools down to -33 thats a start.
ok im gona test it will post results.
thanks

Well Guys looks like we have a winner. it powered on and cooled down to -33c then it ran for a few seconds the temp got all the way down to -41c then it said power down and turned off and went thru its 120sec. no restart count down. then went back into standby mode :) man im so excited to start work on it this weekend. i wonder if i could use the family dog as a test load just to make sure it works (naw he dosent produce enough heat). Well ill keep everyone posted i have a fx-57 thats doing 3130 stable at stock vcore on water with no ihs and i have another older stepping fx-57 on the way with the hat still on. My hope is that at least one of them is not totaly cold bugged.
Thanks

how do i tell if i received a mach II GT instead of a regular old mach II?
The Compressor says 134a or 143a i forget which. what can i look for to confirm that it is in fact a mach II GT
