I just got a Swiftech MCP650 'D5' Pump + 2x DDen Maze4 LProfile blocks for my 1900cf and would like to cool the cpu too. What else do I need to do this? Every time I've asked a wc question, I've not gotten much help. Please help a noob setup a wc.

It looks like I'll get a Black Ice Pro rad. Do I need a single, double or triple? I have a p160 case and don't want to buy a new one. Is it better to have the rad on the outside or inside? What about a Swiftech MCW6000-P waterblock?

Basically, you need the pump (you've got it), water blocks for GPU (which you have), water blocks for the CPU (still need), tubing, a fillport or resivoir (I would personally suggest the fillport and a "T" connector, supposidly you get better temps), and the radiator. You'd have to check with someone like MaxxxRacer to find out, but they might suggest you use two loops if you're cooling 2x 1900cf's with Maze 4's... I'm not sure how much heat they will add to the water and how much your flow rate would suffer.

I'd definitely suggest at least a double if not a tripple radiator if this is all going to be in one loop. I know a lot of people here run CPU + single GPU on a double without an issue... but I'm a little heat-crazy myself and went for a tripple for just a CPU (and likely got little to no benefit for using a tripple over a double). Exactly which you get would depend most on where you can put it. If you can fit a tripple, go ahead. It won't hurt your temps and allows you to put just about as much load on as you'd like (heat-wise). The issue though is that while double rads fit almost anywhere pretty nicely, tripples don't. As far as outside or inside goes, it's really up to you and depends mostly on your case. I've used mine both inside and (currently) outside my case without any real difference... just make sure if it's on the inside it's on an air intake and not exhaust (not that you'll have a lot of hot air in your case once you go to water).

I'm no water guru, but I hope I've been able to help a little at least.

This thread is in the wrong forum. ;)
First of all head over to the liquid cooling subforum and read maxxx's stickies.

u need a cpu block a radiator, tubing, and fittings. I would get triple since i hear the 1900 get really hot. if i had money i would either get the swifttech mcr320 or the pa120.3 or 120.2. i wouldn't get the mcw60000 since its 3/8 id. instead the storm or aqx mp05.

the water cooling section has a water cooling guide that u really need to read.

Thanks for the info. I will go with a triple rad. You don't know how glad I am someone gave me an answer.:)

I read the stickies in wc section and still have questions. To all those who think that is all that is needed, there should be no posts in the wc section then, just read the stickies for all info.

Will the Black Ice Xtreme dual work with y-l fans and do better then the BI pro triple with y-l fans?

its better w/ black ice pro. xtreme is better with high cfm fans.

I would go with the bip3.

wc is a good idea for the X1900 CF, but i am not so sure about the Yonah. Not much to win there tempwise wrt good air cooling. Easier to work with the wc if it doesn't contain too many components in the loop.

I have a tower 120 and TT BT. The tower 120 is a great air cooler on an open board on a table but I would not want to hang it in a case as it does weigh a lot. I am going to try the BT but I don't think it is as good as the tower.

If the Yonah/Merom doesn't put out much heat, why would it mess up the loop?(asking as I don't know) Yonah is very heat oc related.

I meant it is easier to install or remove the wc. Not that much...wc could be ok i guess. But if you haven't bought the processor block already, i would seriously consider air.
