Even if it was, It would probably be 3-6 months down the road before a decent patch would be released to fix many of the bugs That you Just know will plague the game, on it release, just like BF2.

So true... so sad, but so true.

I've had BF2 since release and I love it. Except for the bugs. Still bugs. Not as bad as day 1, when you couldn't even use the ingame server lookup tool.

There is no way to make all software 100% bulletproof, but EA is craze for $$$ is a little much.

Your a bit confused, EA is the publisher, DICE is, has been, and will continue to be the makers of the game. Hence why they are so broken.

You are correct, but I believe it is a policy of EA to "push" their deadlines down to the wire to make $$$. BF is not the only frachise that suffers.

I'm sure it goes a little something like this:

EA: Is the game done yet?
DICE: No, we still have some obvious bugs that cause unplayable crashes.
EA: who cares, they'll still buy it, lets sell it and patch it later

Although EA pushes publishers like any other company pushes its employees, DICE even before EA merger/take over was bad at their buisness, always pushing expansions before fixes.

Let me clarify that I am not slamming the BF franchise. I find it to be one of the best action games out. BF2 was one of the first GOOD games that too RTS elements and added them to a FPS.

I will probably be one of the 1st to buy 2142, but I imagine that I'll be complaining about it as well.

Actually the first game pushing FPS elements into an RTS (or vice versa) would be Command and Conquer Sole Survivor (althought it failed pretty bad). Followed by about 3-4 other failed franchises untill very popular and successfull MODs like Desert Combat / Natural Selection.

And yes I AM slamming BF franchise, they have a diamond on their hands and they keep giving us rocks.

Could not have put it better.

I would pay twice the price if it was just stable and polished.

I had all sorts of issues with BF2 when I bought it the day it came out... Would freeze on the splash screen all the time... put it away for awhile till the first patch came out (first real patch, not the one right after the release), tried again to no avail, waited a while longer, even tried talking to EA... well emailing them, did everything they asked, but I was not about to start hacking my own registry to get the POS to work, so they said there wasn't anything else for them to help me with... Till one day I slapped in an old 8x DVD drive (had to install my one ATA133/RAID card to use the extra drive), had heard a rumor BF2 was finnicky with different DVD drives... sure enough it ran once I did that... then my problems still weren't over... but eventually I did get it to run... but havent played it in months...

Guess what...

weeks ago, I tried playing it, LOL, sure enough it messes up again, & best of all I have updated it with every patch that has come out as soon as they come out... & I still have problems with it, LOL

I'll reinstall it in a few weeks once I get my rig upgraded & all, getting a WD 74GB Raptor next week sometime, from one of the guys over at XPC, I'm trading some of my other drives for, so he can build some more Crunchers for R@H, as well as selling some other parts to him...

Then it'll be the CPU, RAM & Soundcard the week or two after... & even contemplating upgrading from my 7800GT I just got in February to a 7900GT maybe, LOL...

Anyways, then we'll see if it works... I already know it will work on the DVD Burner I bought a couple weeks ago, so I'll finally be able to get rid of the RAID card...
