Maybe someone of you guys knows if ThermalRight HR-05
could be placed on the chipset (if turned by 45C - similar to
the Zalman in the picutre) and still allow the use of 6600GT
or 7600GT in the upper PCI-E (x16) slot?

I bet it might work, but you will lose a PCIE slot. Why not just a Jing Ting? :)

It`d be better placing sink straight w/o tilting with some dremel work

Jing Ting is not even available locally:( . Ordering from abroad costs
too much to be worth. Well, I will try to install the hr-05 rotated,
before i go cutting the middle section.

No Tedy, I'm opting for the HR-05. Not much choice in the local corner for chipset cooling, is there:(
I switched back to the Vantec Iceberg cooler for the chipset because I want to use the first PCI-E slot as I wanted to bench 3D Mark again. The temp rose nearly 20 degrees but my overclocking wasn't affected at all.
