View Full Version : Corsair 8000UL still worth getting?

I have the opportunity to get 4 sticks of Corsair 8000UL as I know that they overclock quite well.

But with new RAM like the OCZ PC2-8000 XTC Platinum Extreme Edition and others which are coming out soon, is the 8000UL still worth getting or should I wait until AM2 and Conroe to come out to see what happens? Especially since the new stuff seems to be coming out in 2x1GB kits.

Wish I could do both, but I don't have enough money :(

Thanks in advance.

Wait a few more months, there's a lot of focus on DDR2 and we should see significant improvements. Prices should drop a bit too, the high end sets are quite overpriced.

wait some more time - 2x1GB will be faster compared to 4x512MB on Intel Chipset. AM2 we have to wait and see but should be the same...

Erm just to ask as well, are the D9s out of production ?

With Am2 just round the corner, i guess the focus will be much more on DDR2, so if i were you i'll just wait a while before prices start to drop before starting anything serious with DDR2 =D.
