the label says " high side= 400 psi" and that was with dual big .06 captubes
So tell me what refrigerant, I'm thinkin argon and a little 134A

I would think that it would depend on what type of oil is in it, and what the compressor is designed for...try looking the model up on the net.

That argon + r134a thing was a myth, hey? It was tested, and didn't work.

not argon again.... it doesnt work. Not like you think.

make an auto-cascade :)

is it a rotary?

auto casscade or multi head system

you'll have loads of flow rate to go around. :D

its a rotory and came with R-22 i just want cold ss with 1 high pressure refrigerant that's easy to come by

R410 or R507 will do fine if u can change out the oil to POE.

why do you even think argon will work? leave the compressor alone and read some more about phase-change and gas dynamics.

i heard it works from a guide i read a long time ago so i guess i belive what i hear just like everyone else
oh, and i already put ester [POE] oil in, and i already made a r 134 a system and had this laying around and want to use it

what about co2 or it needs to have a cascade to condense at those pressures
and i'm gonna make 4 more single stages than a cascade then try an autocascade cause i dont fully understand the autocascade yet

no you can't use CO2 in a single stage!!! pressures are way to high. Use refrigerants like everybody else uses around here. Experimenting with little experience is dangerous, there is a reason why the more experienced people don't use it!!

I recently aquired a 1HP Tecumseh compressor from an AC unit. I planned to use it just as a regular single stage with R290, but from targ's suggestions it makes me want to make something other than just a regular single stage with it.

Might just do a regular SS first and see, then move it onto something else if it seems worth it.

Interested to see what you do with yours :)

yeah, i meant a co2+? mix
but im just asking for suggestions so whatever refrigerant that would work would be good
Thanks.
