Ok Someone help me out on this one. I was not expecting any more (New CPU bios updates) because the 405 took care of the new C1 steping for the 930, 940 as well as the 950 and 965 CPUs. Unless there was something faulty with 405 I would expecta newer bios around the corner. However, no one has posted any problems with 405 bios that I have come across. As a matter of fact some say they get more stable OC using lower voltage. I don't know how truth that is because I never tried it. When I visited the CPU Support webiste (http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx) there is no mention of the 501 bios.
Can anyone enlighten us on why this bios is out to support new cpus? There are no more P4s out there. The 965 is it, right?

And
I wonder if this patch actually works for the P5WDG2-WS. If so it should work with P5WD2-E Prem...right?

Edit looks like you need a bios update first

I'll give it a try today. Seems kinda strange.
I've been using it since last night and I can't find anything different. The memory divider goes up to 1067, but I don't remember what he 0405 had.

now they released a 601 beta bios...why? There is no information why they keep kicking out these new bios files
link (http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us) What more needs to be supported? There is no more P4 CPUs out there that are not supported by 0405 so what does 0501 suppose to support? And what changes are made in 0601 MB?
Everytime I call Asus tech support regarding a MB for conroe I keep getting the same generic answer...they have to test and see if a bios update is needed but, something like that. Yet I am see a bunch a new bios files with no explanation as to why they are making them available to update with...
