heyho!

atm I'm writing a Conroe/Merom FAQ in a German Forum (ForumDeluxx That's it (http://www.forumdeluxx.de/forum/showpost.php?p=3632552&postcount=1476) ) and I want to add the Chipsets. 975 and 965 for Conroe, that's for sure. but whats about the 946 as low entry Chipset?

the newest stuff I found via google was from December 2005...

what can you tell me about it? is it still coming, delayed, canceled or whatever? because even IF it is coming, why has none of the producers announced such a Board? (or did I miss something  )

thanks alot ^^

well, that Chipset wasn't supposed to be a Conroe Chipset so I put all these Mobos alltogether with e.g. Ati Mobos under "Different Chipset" ;)

I'm kinda interested in the 946... Ah whatever. I'll just read a lot of reviews before I buy anything...

At the moment all we know for certain is that i975/965 and i865 will support Conroe. However, since i865 with VRM 11 compliance supports Conroe, I strongly suspect that i875, i915/925, 945/955 could also support Conroe, if any mobo makers choose to offer a VRM 11 compliant mobo using them.

As for i946, I've read that it will support E4xxx Conroes at 800FSB but I don't have the link handy.

ah thx ;) this might be a reason why no manufacturer announced such a board. the E4200 will come in Q1 2007, why should they come up with such a board now? :)
