I sold off some old parts and got enough money for this rig:

Intel D 930 (SL94R Costa Rica B1)
Asus P5LD2
OCZ GameExtreme 700w PSU (Not in Parts Pic)
Scythe Mine CPU Cooler
Connect3d x800GTO
Silverstone 120mm to replace stock in Mine Cooler
Cheap Spire Case

OCZ DDR667 and DDR1000 kits will be here Friday!!!!

First Pic is of Parts, Second and Third are the components installed:

Looks good, nice wiring job. You going to try to flash the GTO?

You can just tell by the looks of those Sycthe coolers that they would work great.

I just bought a BigTyphoon. I might buy a Sycthe Mine next.

you should hide your led and button wires behind the hard drive bays, looks neater that way :)

i thought about Putting them there, but that's where all the extra PSU wires are.....I might redo.........

Flash the GTO?

I like the UPS man, but I love the FedEX guy, hes at my door 8 hours before the UPS man.

Anyways that makes me want to build another rig. What tower is that, looks kinda nice.

Flash the GTO?

If I remember correctly it flashes to x800xt pe or something like that..

There's a good chance your GTO can flash to an 850XT

It's just a $21 spire from newegg.....cheapo.......

I just read up on the GTO.....would be nice eh.

Gonna go grab the GTO out of that rig and put it in this one see if it works.

BTW, my card can't be flashed..... oh well.

Well, I got everything up and going. I'm trying not to get too pissed off about the video card though.

Alright.... Pretty much went straight to 299 fsb where I am stuck at now. 300fsb and it errors tons. So right now I'm 4.48ghz with 1.3375v in bios.

All the memory ratios don't work. Does anyone know a trick?

Alright.... the video card.....well looks fine in 2d, 3d is artifacts at defaults. Gonna have to RMA it.

What BIOS are you on? On my P5LD2 ratios work up to about 270 then the upper ratios will hang the system. 1:1 works up till I max out the 920

Radelon

I'm on 0901.....4:5 will still work but not 3:4 which is probably the best ratio.

You might want to try the new 1103. By the way sound like you have nice 930 :)

I tried the new bios.....not any better....

Someone has got to have a fix for memory ratios at high FSB and >300 functionality.

I don't think the P5LD2 has trouble running over 300 FSB. I'm running my 920 on it at 315x14 for 24/7 usage. Maybe your at the max of your 930 on the voltage you mentioned above. Try more vcore, vdimm, and maybe raise the fsb-termination voltage a notch or two.

What are your settings? I mean all of them..... maybe there's a trick you know that I don't, pcie lock, pci lock, voltages, everything, and everything from chipset.... hopefully i can get around it.

On my board for what ever reason if I set any of the PCI-PCIe stuff to anything other than AUTO I cant get into windows :confused:

Let me boot that rig and I'll post the settings, maybe their will be something that will help.

Advanced/Jumper Free Configuration/
AI overclocking =Manual
CPU Freq= 315
DRAM Freq=630 {any higher ratio results in no post or instability}

PCI Express Freq = Auto
PCI Clock Sync Mode = Auto
{if i mess with any of these, even at stock fsb my board locks up or is unstable}

Memory Voltage= 1.8
CPU Vcore Voltage= 1.4350
FSB Termination Voltage= 1.30
MCH Chipset Voltage= Auto
ICH Chipset Voltage= Auto

Advanced/CPU Configuration
Microcode Updation= Enabled {dont have a clue what this is for}
Max CPUID Value Limit= Disabled
Execute Disable Function= Disabled
CPU Internal Thermal Control= Auto

Virtualzation Technology= Enabled

Advanced/Chipset Settings
Config DRAM By SPD= Disabled
CAS#= 4
RAS#= 4
RAS# to CAS#= 4
RAS# Active To Precharge= 12
Write Recovery Time= 4clocks
Hyper Path 3= Enabled {seems to help performance a good bit} {think this 1t command rate ??}
DRAM Throttle Threshold= Auto
_Platform Airflow= Normal Convection

Boot Graphic Adaptor Priority= PCIE/PCI
----------
PEG Buffer Length= Auto
Link Latency= Auto
PEG Root Control= Auto
PEG Link Mode= Auto {faster} {seems to boot 3D score a tad but caused instability in AM3}
Slot Power= Auto
High Priorty Port Select= Disabled

maybe something their that will help?

I think that you might need some extra volts on some system to get over 300 FSB. I would need water as my CPU get's stuf @ 4.2Ghz with air (well stuck with 1.42 volts... and 65C load...).

Looks good, looks like you spend the money in all the right places ( ie not the case) however that case looks pretty nice for $21.00!

How much did u pay for the x800gto, cause for a $20.00 more you could get a x850xt

Thanks.. I work for Fedex... :D

Used to work for ups, thats why i prefer Fedex, that an stuff always comes alot earlier than ups.

I tried your settings and it's a no go. 300fsb, runs perfect all day, 301 errors in memtest. Definitely the board holding me back.

Blue078
05-07-2006, 05:45 PM
How does it do with any thing besides memtest ? Will it make it into windows? What voltages are you useing? 300x15= 4500Mhz could be the max of your chip.

Radelon
05-07-2006, 05:51 PM
It's definitely not the max of the chip.......the only reason I raise the vcore at all was because of droop.....otherwise it'll do 4.5 default voltage. I can get it to run 305 if I use AI for overclocking which turns out to be 28.435s 1m superpi.

Blue078
05-07-2006, 05:53 PM
Oh OK with a low ratio then the chip runs 4500 easly? What memory are you useing again?

Radelon
05-07-2006, 05:53 PM
See if it was the chip, more voltage would help go a few more mhz at least.....but with this, it's a brick wall..... The ratios really are making me mad.... I can't even use my DDR1000 ram because of it.
