I am wondering this because I have a dead DFI ultra-d MB, that has an upgraded chipset cooler w/ AS5. can I send it in like this?? If not do I have to put on stock cooler? stock cooler no longer has thermal pads will this be an issue.

sorry didn't know where to post this thanks for any feedback.

They say on dfi street themselves that it doesnt void the warranty if you just replace the thermal paste on the stock nb hsf with AS5, but i am not sure about changing the cooler all together. I'd just stick the stock one back on and put some as5 underneath it, it'll be rmaed almost for sure.

as long as they don't see the new Chipset cooler, they wont care...

Just make sure you clean up the NF4 chipset a little so it doesn't look messy.

thanks guys, this is a releif. I bought the MB exactly 365 days ago from today, I thought warranty was only 1 year but the phone rep lady said 3 years. good news to me.
