I'm using a ZALMAN CNPS7700-CU with an x2 3800+ on an evga sli board. The computer is naked on my desk now and im registering 30c idling. Is this normal?

I lapped the heatsink and used as5. Cleaned everything really good too. I was expecting lower, but im not sure.

Also, the cpu cooler moves about rotates about 1-2 degrees easily, is this normal. Everything is nice and tight tho.

That's a very good/perfect idle temp for that cooler. But what is the load temp? :D

Is the twisting thing normal for this cooler. Or is it a sign that is mounted incorrectly?

I've had a few models from the 7700 series and neither of them stayed perfectly still if I nudged them. I'd say that temperature is about what you would expect with those conditions.

I dont know how this thing gets such good ratings if it cant even stay still. Over time wont this affect cooling my displacing or thining out the thermal grease?

I didnt expect this from zalman

No, it doesn't move around over time... it can only move 1 or 2 degrees left/right when a force is being applied to it. The heatsink itself should not move unless it's under some form of moving stress, which is generally not the case. It is a little disappointing, but I did not find any ill effects over time myself (keeping in mind that I didn't move it around once it was on there).
