Hey just wondering if anyone knows how to fix this or if it has happened to anyone else. I have some Corsair CM512-3200XL DDR ram. I have had it for about a year and it has had this problem. It will not run at higher timings than 2-3-2-6. It is spec'd at 2-2-2-5 at ddr400. But if i try to make it say 2.5-3-3-8 and run it at the exact same speed that will run 2-2-2-5 it will not boot into windos. It will post but then go blank before the next screen. It will not run Cas latency of 3 either. so 3-4-4-10 doesnt work or anything. I have two processors and it is the same with both. Also i have had a dfi Ultra-D and and Asus a8n-sli deluxe and it is the same on both. I find it very limiting have to run at 2-2-2-5 with dividers because my sweet spot for my cpu is at a place where no divider will work with my ram unless its way underclocked.
Any ideas?

may i ask u, what voltage do u put?
try a higher memory speed, e.g. 225, cl2.5...
see can it work?

ok yeah no matter what speed the memory is at it doesnt work. 200, 217, 250 no difference. still just blanks out after post\
Ohh another bizzare situation. it works at those timings in single channel. even if i put both sticks in single channel then the latencies work.
so strange.

what rev is it? (should say on the sticker on the mem) sounds like BH-5, which means you need more volts. BH-5 is rev1.1, if its a different rev dont give it more volts.

Actually they are TCCD chips. I took the heatspreaders off when i bought them. I have a fan cooling them. This was especially disappointing when i bought them because i thought TCCD Was supposed to be able to clock high on loose timings. Ohh well any other ideas?

Sorry you are having problems.
The 3200XLs are set to run 2-2-2-5 latency at 200 MHz (DDR400) and if they don't do that with 2.75 volts, call us up and we'll RMA them for you. We stand behind the product and if it doesn't do what it says it does, we'll replace it with something that does.
As for overclocking, TCCDs hate CAS 3, but love 2.5. I've seen 2.5-4-4-8 latency at 300 MHz on some TCCDs, but more common is 260-275 MHz at those speeds.
You sound like you are having some issues, give our tech support a call at l 1-800-205-7657 and talk to Chun or Leo or John, tell them what you're having problems with and they'll be sure to help you out.

Yeah they work fine at default speeds. they do the 2-2-2-5 very well at 200mhz(400) but yeah ive tried 2.5 with almost every setting and it just wont boot dual channel at these latencies even if its at 200mhz. boots single channel no problem. heh kinda nervous to call tech support.
thanks

What board are you using right now?

i broke my Dfi ultra-d a week or 2 ago.

better give a try for RMA.
It sound like u r in the group who face those weird tccd behaviour.
Last year there is a thread, those who own the tccd that can't do cl2.5
OCZ Tony said it is because the spd chip.
some said is the ram chip overheat, and damage the resistor inside.
problem mostly founded when using DFI LP nf4, with 2.8v and above applied to ram.
and those tccd act weirdly like bh5.
