Hello with everyone,
yesterday, I finished building a new computer which is my first computer of multiprocessor.
It's dual Xeon Prestonia LV at 1.6 GHz @ 1.3 Vcore (TDP 30 W per CPU :) ) with 2 GB DDR400 Kingston HyperX CAS2 on ASUS NCCH-DL.
Two aircooling are IntelBOX 100% copper for Nocona.

I try to overclock my Xeon. It's good this Xeon.

60% overclocked and always 1.3 Vcore ! And it's stable during hours with 4x Prime95.
But it isn't maxi again. It can to overclock again over of 2.6 GHz (maybe with 1.3 Vcore) :)
Temperature :
Idle : CPU_1 = 30° C & CPU_2 = 31° C
Full : CPU_1 = 33° C & CPU_2 = 39° C
:)
And a nice picture :

I test a bench for fun : my P4 EE 3.2 @ 3.6 GHz (512K L2 / 2048K L3) w/HT vs my bi-Xeon 1.6 @ 2.56 GHz (512K L2) w/HT :)

I dont remember much about the NCCH-DL but I was under the impression you could still get the FSB to 200mhz without a problem just like the PC-DL.
If you havent already you should try the datamine.tk and 2cpu.com forums.
All the sl6xk's Ive seen do 200mhz without a problem. Most get 2.8ghz-3ghz with ~1.55v vcore. Max I've seen was a little over 3.2ghz.

Nice overclock for default voltage. My LV would do 3.4 on 1.55V. Just that my PC-DL runs up to .8V below what is specified by the processor.

It's maxi now for 163 MHz FSB BIOS boot.
164 MHz FSB, BIOS don't to boot.
It's good for 1000 MHz added for 1.3 Vcore only :)
Now, it's testing under Prime95 x4.

I think that to reach 3.2 GHz, it's necessary to have 1.55 Vcore. On the other hand, my processors are 1.3 Vcore, it's a little hard to reach 2.8 GHz.
My motherboard NCCH-DL does not have the adjustment of Vcore. :(

I think there's a wire/pin mod for 1.6vcore, Feel free to correct me anyone.
But this should enable 3-3.2 Ghz clock :)
Nice results sofar :)

Pin mod as Webzta said :) With the 1.6 LVs you can do a 3 U wire mod and it will set the vcore to 1.6v. But the board wont go over 1.56v/1.55v which is fine. datamine.tk has a good tutorial on how to do it. Pics and all
edit----
you dont need higher vcore to have the 200mhz fsb.

Up Vcore to 1.5v (1.45v in bios), you'll boot on 200FSB

Nice result X-system :D I was gonna go the 1.6Lv route, but saw a pair of 2.8/533's cheap and couldn't resist. Mine aren't supposed to be great overclockers & have a high multi, they're at stock folding away for now & its painful rebooting such a good cruncher to overclock it.

Give it some more volts! Nice work though on stock voltage :)
My 1.6LV server with the 1.6v pin mod:

Yea, I've got a NCCH-DL with 2 x 1.6Ghz P4's @ 3Ghz with some Cooler Master passive HSF's. They work quite well though my expierience with the NCCH-DL has been mixed (great OC'er, lousy stability, even at stock).

Yeah, the thread that ConRoe has everything that you'll need for those Xeons. And if you feel like putting it to good use, the D2ol team could use your help. :D

I run the NCCH-DL, can get my 2.0 Prestonias to 2.8GHz without problems, however the AGP and PCI rates lock at bootFSB/x, where x depends on your FSB by jumpers.
i.e. My jumpers are set at 133FSB, and I have the multi set @ 16x (16-20), so to get 2.8GHz I need 175FSB. My AGP/PCI are set at 0.5/0.25, which gives 66/33 @ 133, but 87.5/42.75 @ 175 which is a lil too high. However if I boot to 133 and up with clockgen - it has no probs.
Normally a 24/7 server however I've just hopped on it now to find a 875 tweaker to test my mem timings without having the clear the cmos all the time. :) :P
Best thing about this board - no need for ECC mem. :D
Also what multi options do you have?

Intel's LV (and mobile) chips are always a good deal for overclockers. They are usually top bin products remarked as slower (and cheaper) products with a lower Vcore. It's too bad Intel never did release a 3.2/533 1.3V version of the Xeon DP like they did with the mobile P4s. Those cores (SL77R) were the absolute best yielding Northwoods that Intel produced and would have made for an even better dual Xeon system. The SL74T 2.4 GHz version did well enough though...;)

For the 1.6LV multipliers 12-16 are available. Although I just recently upgraded the LV to the 2MB 3.2's, they were almost as fast as the 3.2's but much cooler.

Hey there
Have you tried hitting a higher FSB on that chip ? :)

as expected, to give such a TDP, they just underclocked the normal xeons... but its only 1.6ghz, thats way back to the beginning of the xeon 5-6 years ago.
if it was cheap then this would be a nice oc'er/price cpu (couldn't find a price in my country yet)
