I tought of buying 3dlabs wildcat R500 for professional use, so I`m wondering if I`ll be able to play games with it?

yes you can but for the most part it is not going to be remotely efficient at it..
you might want to consider a Quadro instead

I think the word on the street nowdays is nvidia for profesh use. 3DLabs is exiting the video card biz, so I wouldn't look to them for future support. Especially when they can't write a driver to save their lives anyway.

so you prefer ati or nvidia over 3dlabs?are there any good drivers made by someone else?

I prefer nvidia for professional use, after being a long time ati user. I think that's the general consensus amongst professionals.

so which quadro would do its price, or should I buy a geforce and turn it into quadro?

You can only do GeForce to Quadro with 6800 and earlier, not with 7XXX series, unfortunaly. However, I don't think Quadro performance is that much better than Geforce. Some may argue with that statement. What is it that you are doing?

I do a lot of modeling, cause I`m still a student and I work for my professor, some visualisations and design.which 6800 series would be the best to turn into quadro?
