Size vs. Speed

I'm sure this thread has been posted about 2340963561609635 times before, but oh well.
I'm considering trading my current generic ram (2 x 1gb, PC3200, 3-3-3-8), for a set of Corsair PC4400 (2 x 512mb, 2.5-4-4-8).. However, I can't decide if the extra speed would be worth it..
What would you guys suggest? It feels so wrong to "downgrade".. lol

On A64 Systems changing the Speed or the latency of Memory has only a moderate effect on performance
Most of which will not show up on Games..
however More Memory is always better for gaming then less.
Sure the Less ram will score Better in benchmarks because of Highier speed, lower latency and better access times.. but for FPS in a Game.. Don't worry about the memory clock focus on CPU speed
