Lawrywild, that is the coolest AC mod i've ever seen. You should send AC some pictures of it, if they built something like that for the X1000, or 7900 series I would definately buy one!!

It would be fun if you could mount any 80mm size fan you wanted. Maybe an 80mm Tornado. Woot!!

That's true but I use integrated sound and I think dual video cards is overrated :P

Right, I can provide pics next week, so words only for now...

1. 6600GT AGP and silencer 6. Shouldn't fit, made it fit.
2. 7800GT PCI-E and silencer 5. Chopped off fan and added 6 cm fan. Not a success, idle temps was 45C.

WIP: adding duct between heatsink and original fan to allow dual silencers on an Ultra-D...

i never modded the ac silencer but i did experiment with similar coolers.
i found that by putting an 80mm fan in place of the stock wheel actually had less air movement. mainly due to the backpressure.
the one mod that was more than successful was the squirrel cage blower.
CFM means nothing when there is back pressure and those types of coolers has alot.
if you were to replace that 80mm fan with a blower you would see a hurricane of a difference coming out of the backend.
