The PC version will be better because it's not on a console.

You know the hardest part about playing that game on an Xbox360? Telling your parents that you're gay.

wait a minute, you just sersously said the 360 ones look better? im having a really hard time swallowing that one. the lighting is looking a lot worse, and the textures look to be on about medium. aside form that, hey eince, what are hte odds we can get you to get some screens in the same places the 360 ones are?

I find the 360 one looks better too. At least that version has some AA going on, even if only 2x. The PC version lacks support for AA period making jaggies horribly noticeable.

Looks like knockoff BF2 - you can't enable AA on the PC version? Wth

yes you can just enable in the driver setting

I played the demo today with X1900 CF at 680/780 with an FX57 @ 3ghz and I got consistent 25FPS with all high settings, 1920x1200, NO AA and NO AF. What gives? I turned the resolution down to 1600x1200 and got just under 30FPS. Gladly this game doesn't require screaming high FPS since it's a bit slow moving, but I just dumped a whole bunch of cash into 2 new video cards just to be brought to my knees once again with a new game.

I take it those pics are from the real retail version. What kind of FPS do you get and what settings do you use? I'm hoping the demo was having some issues with CF.

you cant enable aa because gr3 uses hdr
and to danger30q there must be something wrong with your setup, at 1600x1200 i dont go below 40 ith everything max'ed and im on single card

I'm going to wait until I download the retail on Tuesday. Maybe there is something wrong with Crossfire in the demo. The odd thing is that changing the settings from all high to medium and lower resolutions really doesn't change the FPS that much. The range will go from 22-28 with the 28 being medium settings and 1600x1200, and the 22 being 1920x1200 and all high settings with 8X AF selected in-game.

I've done some reading at www.ghostrecon.net and there are lots of SLI users getting 40-60FPS with high settings and 1600x1200.

Can any other Crossfire users provide input on their settings and FPS averages? Thanks.

I think the PC Version looks better.... einCe how many FPS do you run with your X2 and 1900XT?

When I turn OFF the Crossfire, I get more FPS. At the exact same settings as Crossfire, I get an increase of about 10FPS with just a single card! With all settings high and AF at 8x at 1600x1200, I get just under 40FPS. My X1900 runs stable in both 3d'05 and BF2 so I know it's not a general Crossfire instability. Hopefully this all resolves itself in the retail version because this is damn pathetic. SLI users over at www.ghostrecon.net are noticing almost a 2x increase in FPS when turning on Alternate Framer Rendering. Now I wonder why I ever strayed away from Nvidia in the first place:(

How do I set up alternate frame rendering?

Is this the SLI option : Single card SLI, dual cards SLI, single card only ?

Edit: Nvm figured it out, was using an oudated coolbits. Re d/ling demo and trying it out, sounds that i'll gain 40-60 fps.

Edit 2: HOLY SHIAT! THAT FIX IS AWESOME! 4x FSAA and 4xAS 1280x1024 all settings on "high" no studdering, no lag. Used to play 1280x1024, 8xAS all settings on "medium" with TONS of studdering and slowdowns, barely playable.

All the PC version needs to beat Xbox360 is some AA imo.

How about comparing PC with Ageia PhysX card with an Xbox360? That'd be interesting, AA or not.

Btw... I've had the full game for like a week now... I hate it. So annoying controlling your squad members I just play CS instead. xD

The X1900XTX supports both AA and HDR though so that shouldn't be a problem anyways.

yes it does, but that doesnt mean that game devs support it, remember the chuck patch for oblivion? hopefully someone will do the same with gr3

Is there anyway to disable HDR so FSAA kicks in?

it might be the post effect quality setting, il mess around with it for a min and ill check back if i see any changes

edit: messed with all the settings, nothing would let the aa through. best we can hope for is a patch :/

What are you talking about?

in the nvidia driver where you can choose to apply the sli
you can choose to see the green gaps in the left side of the screen.
so you can know when the sli works.
i can see the green gaps in all the game (sli work) but in ghost recon
i can not see it.

With the fix for the X1900 Crossfire cards, I get more than double my previous FPS. I'm get about 60FPS with everything on high settings (except the top choice), 1920x1200, 8xAF HQ. This is on an FX57 at 3ghz, 2gigs G.Skill HZ (270), X1900 Crossfire cards at 675/1560.

I'm anxious to see if any new features are added to the Crossfire cards in the new 6.5 catalysts.
