Do they have issues, i have one of the last rev 5.2 which arent tccd i think.
They are 2 x512 xms c2pt. I want to go from the evga to the dfi and want to make sure it works fine. Also my power supply is 20 pin will this hurt. It is a strong one with 35a on 12v and is 550. It is a coolmax

your hardware has more of a chance to not work than work.these are the most picky boards ever made.the coolmax wont cut it with 20 pin connector and corsair is the 1 name brand it dosent get along with well.if you dont have the reccomended hardware than dont do it unless you have the money set aside to buy replacement parts.that way if your stuff dosent work you at least can buy other stuff that will.these are the most hardware picky boards ever made.the cold boot issues and having to send your board in for a 15 dollar fix so late p/supplies will work with them.so much sheit to have to contend with with these boards.alot better boards out there that come close to what these boards will do with out all the headaches these boards have.after my expert ate 2 cpu's and was the most irritating board to set up even with approved hardware im done with dfi.alot of other companies now have bios that have options close to dfi's and arent nearly as hardware picky and will match what dfi's can do.more coming out as am2 gets near so thank god dfi wont be the only board on the block that can o/clock.dfi has an excuse for everything and its never their fault.its always the user, the power supply ,the settings, the placement of the moon in the eastern sky,the power supply companies dont know how to build a power supply, and its not the boards fault that cpu's get blown up on a cold start with default settings.and how for 15$ we will fix our board to run with certain p/supplies that work on everybody elses board but dfi's and thats not a board problem.come on treating us like idiots drives alot of people away from this lousy arrogant company.i would love to see a class action suit brought against them for some of the mistakes they put out and blame everyone else for.

why wont my power supply work, it has more power than enough power huge 12v railings and every thing else. This power supply should handle it.

i have tryed several 20 pin p/supplies that should have worked with the specs like 26,33,33 on the 12 volt rail and none worked on the expert or the ultra d.1 worked with the adapter but the p/supply blew up a month later.like i said you can try but just be prepared to have to buy the approved one.the 2 major problems with these boards are ram and power supplies.there to picky for my tastes.something wrong when the same hardware works on 99% of all other boards but wont work on these poorly designed boards and put out to the public untested and with little to no quality control and then to ask 200.00 or so for this is a sin .just be prepared to have other hardware picked out cause you will probubly need some or all of it.just remember they are very very picky wirh those 2 items.alot of people have had major headaches trying to get them to work with unapproved hardware.

XMS3202v5.2 are assembled with Promos ICs (according to Corsair's IC Inquiry thread) and honestly I don't think there are a lot of earth shattering results with those sticks on DFI NF4 :fact: Maybe, 210-220MHz, If you're lucky....
As for 20-pin PSU... You know, good one WILL work on DFI NF4 just fine. It's not "recommended" per DFI but there are still a lot of folks out there using it, without any adapters. Actually, it powers e.g. my gaming AMD system just fine - Opteron 146 @ 3500MHz, 2 or 4GB DDR, 7800GTX, drives, fans... But If you're upgrading more hardware, definetely put a 24-pin PSU on your list...

you mite want to look at other options if you dont really want to spend the extra money on more hardware.your current hardware will probubly work on other boards that will give you results very close to the dfi.the biostar tforce boards o/clock like mad and are not picky, the epox boards also are excellent o/clockers.some of the abit boards dont do too bad either.my neighbor has the biostar tforce sli board and it o/clocks like mad.he is at 330 htt with a 3200 at 2.9 mhz on air.the ultra tforce is also just as good.the epox have been known for being almost as good as the dfi and not all the headaches.getting so close you will see no difference at all in real world operation.only a few points in a benchmark.im telling you honestly look at the biostar boards.if i was looking for strictly an o/clocking board now i would get the biostar it simply amazed me.i read good things about them but seeing is believing, this sli tforce board rocks.its layout is perfect and its colorful like the dfi boards and it has very few issues.the package it comes with is the best ive ever seen.its truly a bargain for 110.00 at newegg.so unless you have this must have dfi thing look at some other options which wont empty your bank account.these dfi boards are over rated.there are alot of board failures also with these boards.just sleep on it and take your time .
