Nice, pushing the old D9 hard with 2.7v.

What speed are you booting at?

The P5WD2-E actually boots into XP @ 1600 NP. FSB, MCH is at max. Other 'E' boards I had would choke anything over 1.55 on FSB

EDIT: Weird thing with this mobo and MCH is I can no longer run 2:3 divider over 1500FSB. Only 1:1 for over 1500 FSB. I know this UL runs 1170 4-3-3, but can't get 1100 5-5-5 with this mobo

Nice work Proth! I hope to do the Vcore mod on my board sometime in the future. 2.4 is so weak..

Are you using just a regular 120mm? That's a lotta vdimm..

Dude, do the pencil mod. Lottsa people did it and it works great. Just jam a #2 inbetween pins 17 and 18 of the converter and it'll be rock solid. Don;t know what u mean about the 120mm???? and you're scaring me saying my Vdimm is high.

My -E boots around 380 max. Nice board you got. I need to push my WS more, its a good one for booting past 380.

Damn, thanks for that link. How I could miss that one I have no clue. I meant, are you running just a normal 120mm fan to blow on the modules? I just assume 2.7v would be rather hot. I have never gone that high on DDR2, so I have no clue :)

The no clue thing applies to the rest of my day also.

Nice job proth, but that stinks that you have to run 1:1. I wonder if that's part of my issue close to 400FSB and I don't even know it? ;) My board would boot at 380FSB max as well, but that was pretty much relegated to BIOS 0512 IIRC. Other than that it's in the 340-350 range. I just installed 709 and will give it a whirl this weekend. Again, good job!

Thanks Evo, Asus is going to send my original mobo back which ran 1170 @ 4,3,3 but it still needs a LGA775 socket and I'll try to replace it myself with the hot air station at work. If the SS ever gets here, I'll try to get 400 x 13 or 400 x 14 and shoot for 12k....Gotta hurry though because Conroe is coming

Can U give me (even on a private message) some links for P5WD2-E Premium bioses, others than on official site?
Thanks in advance!

That's what I obtained with my 8000UL kitt,but cannot compare my 930 with Proth's 955EE:nono: ...
What is still impressive,is the O/C potential of my CPU,cooled on an hand manufactured watercooling system.
Your Opinions?:stick:

DjLeco. Memory bandwidth on Sandra and Everest has more to do with how fast the FSB runs, how tight the timing is, and how efficient the transfers are, very little to do with computational power of the CPU.

4687/3000 * 800 means your running your FSB @ 312 or 1250MHz with a 2:3 memory divider, so 1/3 of that 1250 is dead time while the MCH synchronizes it with the RAM.

My FSB was 1600, much faster, and memory was 1:1, total efficiency of the buss. At this FSB and mem ratio, even a 630 would pull a 10K everest. Try running a 1:1 and 3,2,2 on the ul and to get that 930 around 4.8Ghz for around 10.5 Everest. That's all you can expect without an unlocked multiplier.

I know man, but my cpu doesn't work more than 4,7 Gigs now, even at 1,70 Vcore, and my motherboard hasn't any Vmods, or Vdroop or other stuff...
There U have complete Vmods for all, and 2,7 Volts on DDRII, mine is 2,4,and my 8000UL, isn't stabile at 800 Mhz with 3.2.2.4
There is my first limitting for all my combo, ISN'T MODDED...
I don't want to mode it because I still have 33 months of warranty, and when the CONROE will be launched, I want to sell my mobo and Cpu,for buying an 2,4 Ghz Conroe, with adequate motherboard.

Can U tell me wich motherboard will be the best for Conroe?

When I said about your 955EE, I referead at unlocked multiplier, wich allows you to run with 400 FSB at 1/1 mem ratio...
That's it for me, I can't go further...

Well, It sounds like you have reached the limit for the 930 @ 4.7Ghz which is pretty typical, although some push past 5GHz. All considered, that's a pretty respectable setup you got there and don't blame you for not wanting to Vmod it.

As for the best Conroe mobo?, I don't think it exists yet. There are a few boards out already but from what I've seen, mobo manufacturer's need a few months of development to take full advantage of Conroe's capabilities. Anything purchased today would be outdated by the time Conroe is available in retail channels. I'm an ASUS fanboy and will follow their products as they become available for Conroe.

OK, man, thanks for your opinion, maybe next time, I will tri to O/C my proc with an Vapochill or something wich can offer under 0 degrees.
I will post then if I will do!
Good Luck in all of yours and,RESPECT from Romania!:toast:
