hi,
my friend is planning to buy a computer now and to upgrade the proccesor to Conroe when it will be released. so my question to you is: what MOBO will support Conroe for sure (that i can find these days...)?
can you give me models of MOBOs that will 100% support Conroe so he'll be able to upgrade to Conroe? (he needs something not expensive... doesn't need it for heavy OC... maybe just a little bit..)
i m interested in a BOMO that is sold these days... not a MOBO that will be released in the near future...
thnx in advance... :)

All I can think of would have to be the Intels "Bad Axe" i975X WITH REVISION 304.
See in the Thread called "Intel D975XBX "Bad Axe" Revision 304 - Who Wants One?"

YOu should wait until the CPU is released at this time all the mobos are expensive and limited
2 months from now could be a much better buying time and I doubt anything for Conroe will be cheap except the CPU itself

I agree, it would be hasty to jump in straight away and get a motherboard now unless you like being a pioneer and then will get another board later.

..............
Eliminator1, as others said, you're going in this way too fast. Wait till CPUs are available and more board selections which also means cheaper prices.

Now that we've gotten our 3 yr old temper tantrom (sp?) out....
I'd agree that it will probably be best to wait until Conroe releases, you'll have better luck getting real advise then. Just hoping that a decent board doesn't cost too much, tho I doubt I'll skimp on anything this time I build.

you have one back, possibly a final post as well if you are this bent out of shape over a simple 'check the thread' response.

there are 24 threads a day about Conroe because Conroe will PWN AMD A64 and X2. Done deal, sell your A64 while you still can... imagine LN2 cooled 4gHz X2's power in a Conroe on AIR.

Oh, I'm never bent out of shape, and I wasn't referring to your 'check the thread" reply, but to another one.
But I send you a PM back, in which we can discuss this further if you want.

i know that my friend should wait until conroe releases... but he needs a computer now and he can't wait for the conroe so i thought that maybe he could buy a MOBO that supports Conroe...
viper650, i saw the prise in the thread but i wanted to know what is the real prise of this product... the prise that i should see in a computer store.. the bad exe is sold here for about 250-300$ and i just wanted to know if this prise is "normal".
well, i'll tell my friend to forget about conroe...
thnx for the help...

If he really needs a computer now, I would get a cheap mobo and cpu, and upgrade when conroe arrives.
The 805's seem popular with the crowd around here for a "temp" system while waiting. Depening on when the Bad Axe's in the group buy get available thats what i intend to do aswell.
