How have you determined it's blowing anything away? Any reviews to look over?
Edit: had to manually load the pictures...... any reviews for this cooler?

thanks bro..... was looking for something less bias than the PCAPex review (which basically looked like a bull:banana:    review. Ultimately people have to start realizing you can't go but so much lower than anything else on the market because we're dealing with ambient air. Pretty much any good cooler is gonna be about the same at idle but will show it's weight in gold once the temps and the volts go up.
Here's the review if someone wants to tear it apart. :D

I lost faith in madshrimps since they claimed Zalman VF700-CU performs worse than stock XFX 7800GT cooler. :slapass:
I yet wanna see a CPU aircooler that can beat this at 16dB. 1.71v Prime session. :p:

What cooler are you using for those temps?

Big Typhoon + 8x case fans, Typhoon likes good airflow. Its also lapped and remounted 5 times with AS5 to get best result. :p:
Well San Diego/Venice are hard to get any really warm anyways. With stock speed I have as low temp as 26 - 27C idle and 36C load.

16db? The fan couldnt do 17db at 5v, dont believe whats on the box, TT has bs ratings.
Anyway, about the Noctua, spcr reviewed it, and compared it to the ninja and HR-01

Ninja pwns it it seems, but when you get to uber low airflow, the noctua recovers a bit. Also reviewed is the 92mm version

Yum... I love my BT. They certainly do love their airflow, right over it obviously the most. My findings: http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews.php?type=3&id=41&page=1&desc=thermaltake_big_typhoon
Edit: yes the DBA rating seems to be total bs, but it's still fairly quiet

Yeah, its still quiet (around 25dba i think), but not as quiet as TT says, Still a good fan, and yeah, they do love their airflow, look how close together the fins are!

It's still so silent so I need to put my ear about 30cm from it to hear it. Would guess around 20dB, comparing with my other case fans that are rated between 16 - 22dB. I've also had it spinning at 50% speed 700rpm and it was inaudible even from a close distant.
I do know the noise levels doesn't everytime make sense, my ADDA 92mm 16dB fan is about as loud as my Revoltec 120mm 22dB. The 19dB fans sounds like they would be ~23dB etc. I wouldn't say 25dB tho, as that's close to 28.5dB Zalman VF700-CU which is clearly the fan that has most noise in this comp case and Typhoon sounds a lot more silent imo. But it's easiest to keep a conversation with rated noise levels than speculation values.
Anyways this cooler will definitely stay with me for many years ahead. :D

Well, I don't really care about sound or anything. I've already replaced the stock fan with a med speed Panaflo and through the stock one in my window right above the BT :D
i keep my BT woith the stock fan @ 550 rpm i love my system to be quiet!!i was thinking of replacing the fan with ttake siletwheel 13cm...what do u think about it?
