Now, I don't know much about the OCing ability of various baords besides my very own eVGA board and ASUS/DFI boards, so...

Is there a 939 board for about $40-$50 that will hit 300HTT without any big issues? or at LEAST 280HTT? O, and does 1.55-1.6v of course :)

I appreciate your input... heck if anyone is selling one just drop me a PM, want to throw this 3200+ Venice I got in a trade into a rosetta rig. :D

Look at the T-force series, very capable, cheap boards. Not to mention good onboard video!

That's going to be hard to find, unless it's used. The best cheapo 939 board is the ASRock939 though for ~$70 + shipping, 350MHz+ stable.

Don't get a refurb. Just because they're listed doesn't mean they work. It's "as-is".

Hmm.. what to do... i might just sell the 3200+, i dont really need another rig. I'd rather get a cheapy laptop.

Newegg refurbs are fine... i bought a sapphire 480 board that was refurbished.. it came with a big burn spot very visable from the front window of the box. It was apparent someone blew out the fan header, as this was the area the burn/blackened area was next to. The motherboard still worked, but I ordered a refurbished mobo, and according to their definition of refurbished, it is done by the manufacterer. In my case it just looked like they shipped out what someone rma'd back to them without checking it out. They gladly refunded my money. But i'll still take my experience into consideration, if i ever choose to purchase another refurbished item.

Yes there is a risk with refurbs. However My ultra-d is a refurb which cost me $49 @ Monarch when they had that dumb countdown sale. It does 400htt, all components work fine and hasn't produced a bsod yet. My board looked pretty new also and DFI was kind enough to send me the IO plate for free.

cheap new and reliable is asrock dual sata2, it's good for farming because you can put any old agp card in and pcie aswell lol. Actually it's my main mobo atm, but it is a pretty decent clocker and there are easy mods for it. You need to mod to get more volts, but like I said it's a reall walk in the park. Newegg has them for 70 bucks :)

Well, I sold my DAGF couple of weeks ago for $55, before that I used it in my bro's rig:

Venice 3200 @ 1.63 vcore, 10x265 1:1 (patriot xblk tcdd 2x512) >> rock stable for 4 months. (but I couldnt push more htt out of it, whereas same cpu and ram is now working 9x295 1:1 in ultra-d).

Also, after a month or so nb fan header died - used molex not a big deal, and more importantly one day it completely died - had to send rma.

It's a mediocre mobo. On the other hand, I am wondering about asrock, too.

Just try it. Some jackass probably wanted to do AGP-PCIe SLI and returned it. One thing I should mention is that there are some problems with 1T command rate and certain E6 Venices.

check redflagdeals, usually a lot of people trying to get rid of mobos on there

lol@agp-pcie sli :D

I got the same mobo and an e6 venice but no problems here. Only weird thing is the huge diffrence between 2t max speeds and 1t, 255 1t is the highest it will go but 2t will go to 295 with easy ( and still get's beaten to death by the 1t lower clock setting ). Haven't tested on another board but I think it's the limiting factor :)

Smiley because the ram costed > 3 times as much :toast:
