2gb gskill zx won't run stock on abit at8

Is this a known issue - if so is there a fix?

I keep getting errors, blue screens etc.

because I'm using an xp120 the first memory slot is blocked, but I'll give it a try in single channel.

Edit: Couldn't get the system to post with the memory in the other slot
